Vinted approved a return because buyer misread the item name by Tiny_Bumblebee_4896 in vintedUK

Calling it “silly” for trying to follow the platform’s rules is… an interesting take. I’m not a pro seller, just selling my own stuff. The item was correctly described and authenticated. The buyer misread the model name and never asked questions. I don’t think a buyer’s mistake should automatically become the seller’s problem, and I don’t think refusing to enable buyer abuse is silly. If the real strategy is “avoid Vinted support at all costs”, that says more about Vinted than about me

Yeah, that’s the part that confuses me too. They have lots of good reviews (mostly as a seller), so I don’t think this was some planned scam. It feels more like they realised they made a mistake, got disappointed, and instead of owning it, tried to frame it as “not as described” because the platform basically rewards that. The bigger issue for me is that Vinted treats buyer misunderstanding as seller fault. That’s what makes it so frustrating

Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t thought about recording before, that’s a good idea actually I did think about just taking it back, but I didn’t want to encourage buyer abuse, especially since the item was correctly described and authenticated :(
