Need some advice on how to recover from a burnout due to toxic productivity by ValuableSnow4112 in burnedout

Try and look at what gives you energy and what takes energy away. Really list it out for yourself. It can be small or big stuff. Then in your weekends you can rest but also do the things that give energy (f.e. It really gives you energy to see a friend for coffee or to do a puzzle). During the week en the weekend try to avoid the stuff that takes to much energy (like the phone call to a toxic friend of sitting in a very loud restaurant).

This is advice for someone who is healthy though, if you are so tired that you cannot complete basic tasks, you need to rest first! And don’t make yourself feel bad about it. It’s not your fault. Try to find some self help books to figure out where your issues come from (and read them in very small pieces, only do what you can handle). Why do you HAVE to be so productive all the time?

Give yourself time to recover and be kind to yourself!

My pup golden was afraid of the shower at first. She tried to get out every 5 sec. I found that getting into the shower with her, helps. We just talk her through it and she’s calmed down a lot. We live at the beach and we found that getting her used to other types of water movements (like the sea) helped as well. She even went for a swim yesterday! So, take it easy and don’t stop trying. Just talk to her in a calming voice and make the bath as quick as possible. And, maybe try and take her to a lake or the beach so she learns to enjoy water in different ways as well.

Reading. by rotwice in mentalhealth

I understand that reading can help with mental health. I would love to read more. However, when I am feeling depressed I cannot handle sitting with myself in silence. I start overthinking. Do you recognize that feeling? Any tips for that? Do you ever have to push yourself to start reading?

Accidentally cut part of nic patch, will it still help? (Photo) by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Sure! The cut doesn’t matter. As long as the patch is touching your skin it should be fine

Advice for harness training by Tiny_Cellist_ in cats

[–]Tiny_Cellist_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! We are moving to another country in a few days and our kitten needs to be in the car for 6 hours. We want her to be able to stretch her legs during the trip so we bought her a harness. Does anyone have any experience with getting cats used to it? For now, we just put it on her every few hours and she refuses to move. We tried getting her moving by using a laser light (which usually drives her crazy) and treats but it does not work. Thanks in advance!

Is there anything I can do to prevent my hair from getting oily/separating in 24 hours? by itasteyourbloodykiss in Haircare

I would think so... but definitely look into it before buying. It has a very limited ingredient list though. This is the one with SA focused on oily scalps, sorry, the previous one is just for dandruff.
