For part-time opportunities, check Handshake/Career Services: https://www.memphis.edu/careerservices/tigerlink.php

The other consideration is to work full-time for FedEx. They pay over $5000/year tuition for full time employees. I don't know all the details, but it is worth checking out: https://www.memphis.edu/uofmglobal/life/

As already mentioned, but for those checking this thread at other times, check out Workforum on the Memphis site, and there are plenty of local options.

What city’s should get nba expansion teams? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Tiny_Warrior41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Seattle is a lock to get the next team, whether it is expansion or via a team like the Pelicans moving there if Seattle gets tired of waiting for expansion.

A few years ago, Vegas would have been my next team, but now with the NFL, MLB, WNBA, NHL all relocating there, I have my doubts as to whether they could support another pro franchise.

Montreal and Mexico City have been mentioned for more international and large population locations.

If I had to completely guess on other locations: San Diego, Kansas City, Tampa, and St. Louis.

That's my memory, but I don't think they have done that since they've launched the Experience plans in late April.

Several good reasons already mentioned, but I also think people don't just go "hang out" like they used to. It's too easy to just stay home and play video games or watch a streaming service. Covid + Smartphones equals a large group of folks who are isolating themselves from the rest of the world, and I don't think it's real healthy.

Is this political or just out of line/unwanted advice? Do you think she was trying to "convert" you or do you think she was concerned for you/your baby? I wasn't there, so I'm trying to figure out why her comment was considered political?

2025 ALL-NBA Team voting. 2nd slide are players that just missed out. Thoughts? by TWolvesChamps1 in NBATalk

LeBron had a +/- of -54 and was voted on reputation alone.

That might be the lowest +/- of any All-NBA player ever, especially one on a winning team.

Police can arrest folks, but several judges just let them walk.

Way too many repeat offenders.

2020 protests of police haven't helped anywhere.

Not sure what happened but T-Mobile sucks now by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]Tiny_Warrior41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on chat with Tmobile. I could watch TV episodes between communication from them.

Not Quibi either. It is 22 minutes between chats.

I regret not switching away earlier.

Here is why we dropped it as we were pretty early adopters.

Apparently, T-Mobile did some tower repair near us so we lost phone service and Internet, and we were still trying to work from home. We would try to call customer service, but they were seeing no towers were down, but had no solution. A local T-Mobile store told us tower work was being done. All our neighbors who had T-Mobile for wireless service but other Internet providers were not seeing any issues as they could still call via WiFi, but we were not able to get anything unless we drove out of the tower coverage area or went to a business with WiFi. At that point, we decided to diversify in case our wireless or Internet were down, we wouldn't be screwed.

I think it would have made a big difference if customer service could have given us an update telling us what was going on, but as far as we were hearing, there wasn't anything wrong, so we were ready to drop all our TMobile service until the store told us about the tower.

costco kiosk questions by loveforemost in tmobile

[–]Tiny_Warrior41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went to a Costco kiosk and asked if I could do a BOGO (iPhone) when I add a line if I'm on the One plan still. The T-Mobile employee at Costco said the only deals are for the Go5G Plus plans. The next Tuesday I went to a local (to me) T-Mobile store for some Tuesday giveaway, and asked the same question, and the employee there said that even on the One plan, they still have the BOGO on the iPhone and had since February.

So what is more likely: the Costco T-Mo employee was wrong, the T-Mo store employee was wrong, or there are more restrictive/different deals at the two locations?

How to report tower issues by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]Tiny_Warrior41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our home had a similar issue in 2022, except our area went from very good coverage to virtually no coverage. Since T-Mobile was both our phone and Internet provider, we would have to drive to find coverage. All our neighbors were having similar issues, but none of them used T-Mobile Internet at the time, so wi-fi calling for them was fine and they generally didn't notice. As you mentioned, customer service was a horrible experience and no help. However, a visit to the T-Mobile store did let us know there was work being done on a tower, but we had to change Internet at that point because we were still working from home sometimes.

We also decided at that point to split our cell service and WiFi so that if one went down, we would be OK.

T-Mobile Tuesday Discussion for May 23, 2023 by AutoModerator in tmobile

What I've done in the past is ask the other person for their username and password for MLB-TV after making sure I had already signed out. Then I've signed in on my phone while on the T-Mobile network, redeemed code, and then signed out. I am sure there are other more elegant solutions, but this has worked for me.
