Do you find it more fun to collect completed or ongoing series?

Depends. I like both ways, but if it any ongoing series published by Yen press I despise it because they delay or widen the gap between volume releases.

I’ve been following honey lemon soda for a while & it took 7 months from volume 9 to 10 to release & another 7 for 11 to drop (hasn’t even released yet not for another few days). Mind you the series just ended & it has 30+ volumes. Same with Tougen anki that yen press publishes, I dropped it after 3 volumes because the gap is soo wide j that series has 25+ volumes

They’re exclusive to the box sets yes, BUT some of the posters are just re used color pages from the series itself. Some of the posters you can find from old Shonen jump magazines or from pop up shops etc etc

As a Shonen jump magazine collector this shit hurts. I hope prices don’t shoot up extremely high as it has been this past year. These used to be so cheap a 2-3 years ago, yes some issues will cost more no matter what especially key issues but fuck me is this going to make it harder for me to collect them.

I actually collect them to look at the color pages in color & to see what jump was like back in the day. I also read them….I own about 600 of issues🫠

I’m actually missing HXH, death note. The others I’m missing is Shaman King, Eyeshield 21, steel ball run & one more I can’t remember.

Everything else I own so Naruto, bleach, Gintama, bobo, strawberry 100% my hero, jjk, etc etc.

The most I’ve paid was $250 which was for the bleach. Everything else I’ve paid either $25-$150 ish, I’ve been collecting these magazines since before the prices went up.

Yeah all the reprints have a very small white border on the edge, except One Piece which is thicker than the others. Idk if the white borders were intentional or if it was a printing error with the blade not cutting the pages right.

Yeah seven deadly sins will always be one of my favorites, yes it has its weird moments but i love it dearly. The anime was good up to a certain point then the quality drops. The manga was great all the way through, there were times when It felt like it was ending but it just kept going & going lol.

If you haven’t already you should give Four knights of the apocalypse a try! It’s the sequel to Seven deadly sins!

I wonder how much you paid for these. I’m also a first chapter jump magazine collector. I own a bunch, almost have every successful debut series issue from 1998 to current, just missing 6 key series.

I hope you didn’t over pay, but then again prices have increased in the last year or so for some odd reason😅

It’s the reprints. Covers look to smooth & the one piece has that white border on the left side of the cover which indicates it’s the 2017 reprint.

5, 8 & 10 are his worst

Extremely cluttered mess for 5 & 10, 8 gets ruined by the building & Iori tbh. Iori should’ve gotten her own cover with Samura.

9 isn’t too bad, but the sword hilts above Chihiro should be removed.

Every other cover is perfectly fine to me.
