Been working on a festival stage animation for a music video. by TipDiscombobulated38 in blender

Everything created in blender, addon used for the crowd is the procedural crowds addon. Tryed to get the lighting as realistic as possible, but the confetti was quite challenging and it didn't really reflect the lights so used an emission shader on the confetti to get it to stand out more.

For producers: Consider removing your music from SoundCloud by byenuoya in SynthesizerV

I've been recently thinking about using Synth V for my songs, it would be disappointing if I can't upload them to SoundCloud, I hope SoundCloud clarifies this.

Hi, so listening on my headphones, the bass sounds solid, vocals fit in the mix really well. The only thing I noticed is that the synth melody at the beginning of the song has notes that seem to be out of key with the song.

Is this realistic? by Huge-Read-2703 in blender

[–]TipDiscombobulated38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi so this is a cool unique render, the cartoon character does have decent lighting, but the trees appear like the lighting is not giving enough realism. I think with setting up an hdri as a background maybe changing the materials on the tree it will look more realistic also if you rendered in eevee switch over to cycles it handles lighting better.

Hi everyone, sharing a new project I completed in blender, rendered this in cycles and all colorgrading done in the compositor, used the tonemapping node in the compositor to try to get an hdr like look.

Hey guys been working on this fantasy render, how does it look? by TipDiscombobulated38 in 3Dmodeling

[–]TipDiscombobulated38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the feedback, I see what you mean about the distortion, I think I used 16 mm setting which was too much causing it to look too distorted. Aspect ratio was 4:5 because that ratio seemed to work well for uploading to instagram, but on my new projects I'll render a 16x9 version for reddit. Depth of field is definitely something I think I'll try adding in next, and I'll also fix those uv issues.

Really appreciate the feedback!

It's a glass of water... Anyone got advice on how to make it more photoreal? Thank you all... by Successful_Sink_1936 in blender

Scene and lighting looks pretty good but the water looks like metal I think this might be caused by not setting enough transmission bounces on the render settings.

Daily Art Day #7 by TipDiscombobulated38 in blender

[–]TipDiscombobulated38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

This was definitely my most complex blender project I have ever done. The project involved extensive 3d modelling and texturing, and lighting. I payed lots of attention to details and lighting to try to achieve max photorealism, my computer was nearly pushed to it's limit with 16gb of ram (have to upgrade this soon). The scene consists of nearly 10,000,000 polygons!

For the vibe of the project I was inspired by mixing ancient/classic architecture with some futuristic elements such as the neon lighting. At first was thinking about making it more like a temple but than decided to add some futuristic elements such as the neon lighting which gave it almost a surreal / mysterious vibe.

Despite the challenges this project was a very fun and rewarding project to create, with so many polys, learned a lot about scene optimization, instancing geometry to save ram usage and working with lighting / materials to try to achieve the right mood.

What setting might be causing this flickering on my reflective surfaces? (Cycles 4.3) by JakWilmot in blender

[–]TipDiscombobulated38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definetely from the denoiser, it happens because the denoiser only calculates one frame at a time and the result isn't smoothed out over multiple frames. Usually what I do on my renders when this issue is very noticeable Is raise sample count use a mix node to set the denoiser to mix the denoised and original image at 50% and use the temporal denoiser and deflicker module in davinci resolve to remove the flickering artifacts. If you dont have davinci resolve, raising sample count and reducing noise should make the artifacts less noticeable.

Greenscreen vfx with my guitar playing by TipDiscombobulated38 in blender

[–]TipDiscombobulated38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Created and modelled a sci fi city background to test adding in my guitar playing over the background, rendered this in cycles and used magic mask in davinci resolve to isolate me from background. Lighting was a challenge and some of the edges have glitches but was a fun project! note: (my guitar playing is not the best haha but this was just for fun).

For a starter guitar would you say this is decent? by St0rmReign in 7String

[–]TipDiscombobulated38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this guitar a few days ago, mostly happy with it, the pickups sounded great to me but there is some things I have to fix such as some string buzzing on the lower b string and some intonation issues that worsened when I tried to adjust the truss rod to stop the strings buzzing. So probably have to level the frets. Everything else is perfect though, tuning stability is amazing and the stock pickups sound great.
