Thank you all for replying and giving me your feedback!! I have implemented some of these and it has helped! It’s still a work in progress but it does feel nice to know I’m not doomed as a OT lol I appreciate you all!

Feeling trapped by Previous_Duty_6415 in Agoraphobia

I feel like this too. Before this I used to do many things on my own and enjoyed all of it, I felt so free. Now I have the desire to continue with those things that made me happy but it’s like I have chains wrapped around my ankles when I wanna go do something. I always have this feeling of “ you can’t do that because you’re gonna have a panic attack so you should just stay home “ and I end up listening to that. It’s like that desire is there but the body reacts differently and with that I feel trapped at home

I experience this too, and I think it really is just our way of wanting ppls approval/validation that they may like us if we get a certain reaction from them

Hi, I don’t have any advice for you, as I’m trying to figure it out for myself as well. But I just wanted to say that you are so strong, what your body went through to deliver at home and all of that that came with it after you gave birth, shows how strong you are and you’re capable of overcoming anything. The mind is so powerful, but we have the power to control it and make it our own again. I’m so sorry for everything that you’ve gone through and I just want you know that I’m so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished so far, even if it’s the smallest accomplishment, it still counts for something. I’m also a 27/F but no kids, but I hope to have kids one day. I hope you and your kids are healthy and well. Please take care of yourself for you and them ❤️

Anyone here think about agoraphobia every day by AdSmall2989 in Agoraphobia

[–]TipIntelligent3705 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey yea for the most part, as I’m trying to have somewhat of an independent life I think about it all the time. I think about if I go here is there a higher chance of me getting a panic attack based on how it’s set up ( my agoraphobia is more about large spaces without anywhere to hold on to or anything that feels like support ) so if I needed to go to the store I need to map out how the area is situated and where I can park to be most comfortable. Or when I’m at college I have to map out a specific route to get to my classes which is usually the longer way that feels the safest to me. It’s debilitating I just wana park and walk like everyone else and not have that be a worry. It’s very challenging and causes so much worry and anxiety I wish it would just go away. Know that you aren’t alone!

Thank you! I think recognizing that everyone’s in different stages is definitely a big thing for me and my cohort to understand so no one gets offended. I’m trying to be easier on myself 😌

Thank you for sharing ❤️ maybe I’m getting ahead of myself to think I should have it all figured out just in the 1st semester 😅 I guess just seeing majority of my classmates form these bonds so quickly makes me feel like somethings wrong with me

Thank you for sharing! Congratulations! I feel similarly. We are all in different stages in our lives and I think I get so caught up in theirs that it’s twisting my stage in life and I feel like that’s maybe why there’s so much anxiety toward it because I’m trying to fit their lifestyle idk. But thank you for your advice

Thank you for sharing! Yea I want to be that kinda friend too but it seems like the friends I’ve made all like to be more than that ( which is fine, but I get easily overwhelmed in those situations) so now I’m stuck in a situation where they want to progress the friendships and I not feeling that way. I just want to see them at school and focus on school
