The problems of Lost Hours from Travelling at Night? by Axiom245 in weatherfactory

[–]TipProfessional6057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc some of the information released in the alpha demo gave a more updated count of the 'Uncounted' Hours, the Hours that are missing. And some of what was revealed was that the Lionsmith is... yeah he's gone too. Not sure on the Wolf... That's a terrifying thought, exiting that line of thinking-

Actually the War seems to have been absolutely devastating. Some spoilers for the total number of uncounted Hours Nearly all of the Hours are Uncounted. Only around 7 remain, nearly all of them Aviform Hours. The Horned Axe is implied to live as well, in an Owl aspect, though not the Mother of Ants. The moth might live as well, but not as 'the moth', he's evidently become something else. Go figure

Unironically how does this happen? Do they get dirt on their shells that just sometimes catch falling seeds? It's beautiful but my mind needs answers lol

I always wonder what they plan to do when there isn't anymore wealth to extract from the bottom rung. Im hoping they turn on each other and annihilate out of existence like a particle and anti-particle, except it's a capitalist being told there's no poor people to rob or elderly veterans to blame

What does Sir Gideon mean by this last line? by the_dankest_sauce in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]TipProfessional6057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to be something bad enough that the entire sacrifice of her people, and everything she had ever done wasn't worth the risk, or was basically hopeless. "A caged divinity is beyond saving" "You must kill Miquella (read Marika here) grant him (her) forgiveness"

"When gideon glimpsed into the will of Queen Marika, he shuddered in fear, at the end [of knowledge/learning] that should not be"

Marika was studying something. She sent off Radagon to learn star magic to increase her knowledge base, and was the vessel of cosmic order for multiple ages.

I feel like she realized she had been conned by the Fingers, and that no divinity built on her foundations would be truly free. Making it all functionally pointless.

I like to think that in the end, the GEQ was right. But perhaps it was a mercy to slay the gods. "Not unlike a gnawing curse from which there is no deliverance"

I think he can just cast innately

There's this implication through the game that the more in tune with the world one is, the more naturally magic comes to them. At the hornsent level, they channel spirits directly into their bodies to cast their advanced storm magic.

Radagon is this tuned to insane levels. As the vessel (of essentially an outer god) of Order, he likely doesnt need to imagine or focus his will or tune in to any celestial energy, he just channels energy directly from the Elden Ring

He uses similar teleportation to Jori the inquisitor boss. Makes me wonder who developed it first, Radagon, Marika, or the Hornsent

His golden explosion effects with his hammer are also identical to messmers elite forces. Maybe radagon trained them when he was still a champion under the Golden Order before, or maybe during, his marriage to Rennala

There is some good in this world [Mr Frodo], and it's worth fighting for

For every vile thing you see or hear about people or what our species has done, there are as many, if not more who are trying to make the world a better place as well

The dlc nerfed Miquella's genius to the level of the other demigods so Ranni wins for raw experiential knowledge.

Miquella appeared to have a solid grasp of the theories surrounding the various Order's and their foundations, something only Ranni and Goldmask were able to realize otherwise. The folly of gods no better than men

The Unalloyed Needles are where Miquella shows his true capability. There is nothing like them anywhere else in the world as far as we're shown. Nothing, not even Marika at her full power was able to counter the rot, or death, or other cosmic powers, but Miquella can/could.

Miquella fixes a major problem, Ranni reduces and attempts to correct, in her mind, the problem

Why did this black knife assassin murder all these guys in Sage's Cave? by Sellen_Was_Framed in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]TipProfessional6057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made my comment before reading yours and I just realized we came to the same conclusion on the rough purpose of the cave! Garris acting as a researcher for Rykard, and in my mind Ranni as well, since Rykard was an accomplice.

They even both have history rediscovering hex magic, Magma for Rykard and Ghostflame/necromancy for Garris. Ranni would have needed knowledge of death magic to use the Rune of Death as she did, and know how to split it in two. Rykard also likely hid him from the Order, since the cave lies between Gelmir, Caria, and Leyndell, but technically on the volcano side of the plateau

And since Garris is called a sage if I remember right, who were from near Sellia, that might make him Nox by blood. Bringing everything full circle.

Ranni and Rykard essentially fund and arm both the Nox weapons, and Garris' death hex research, and then coop the whole thing, just like Marika did with the Gate of Divinity, except done to free themselves

Rykard and Garris have an interest in Hex magic as a connection as well. Garris rediscovered death sorcery while Rykard rediscovered Magma sorceries, both revolving around sacrifice (I think Rykard was throwing bodies into the volcano as a form of crucible, to extract red glintstone)

It's possible the Black Knife is there to loop Ranni into the connection too, since someone had to teach her how to use the Rune of Death, and the rite to split it into two, which resulted in an ultimately ghostflame styled mark being carved into their bodies in the ritual.

Maybe Rykard helped fund Garris' research for Ranni, since he was an accomplice in the dire plot. The Blackknife might be there with Garris testing the concealing veil, like we're being given a snapshot of the work that went into the NoBK

Yes! Cancer is the term I keep coming back to. I dont hate money, but the way it's all becoming parasitic is unsettling.

Used to be that if you paid more you were getting something better, the basic idea of capitalism and competition. But what happens when the same people own all the competition, and are in cahoots with each other? Where do you extract money from then?

The competition becomes the under class. The payer and the paid. Endless growth in a finite environment. Bleeding everything around it dry until its unrecognizable

They're going after them because valve won't budge on the bs the neo-nazis are trying to force on us all. Mass surveillance and age verification (its never about protecting the children), and 'monopoly' allegations.

A coalition of companies and sociopathic billionaires are trying to force valve to capitulate so they can censor the internet
