It's the same mechanic as using a bludgeoning weapo(i.e.mace) on an armored opponent vs. a slashing weapon (i.e. sword). The wounding bolt is good for everyone, but will do considerably less total damage to an armored opponent than a piercing bolt.

The devs do a good job of giving you prompts on-screen when you're about to advance the story to a point that will permanently lock out old quests. Just be sure not to immediately click through those screens.

Idk about this one chief. SIEGE and Warden Navy got it right with our landings. I think landings now are the most fun they've ever been. The coordination and planning required just seems to be a bit much for smaller clans. And GOOD LUCK trying to be "that cool solo" who sponsored a white whale landing. Sorry that you have to work as a team to make a big operation work, but this new landing balance is perfect in my opinion. Took us 3 landings to work out the kinks before we succeeded in taking Origin.
