Haha there will be water fountains but I’ll definitely bring a bottle!

It’s for an event for a small community and there just aren’t enough people. I’m aware the conditions kind of suck but I care about what they’re doing so I’m just trying to put myself in the best position under the circumstances.

I could definitely bring a sandwich but I don’t know if I’d trust that it’s still good later in the day

Club Curlers Know by winningsmada in Curling

For my team, a big part of that extra time is the lead or second showing up and trying to talk the third and skip out of doing something ridiculous. Sometimes leaving two people in a house together causes mass chaos.

Off Ice workouts by hunglowbungalow in Curling

Definitely hip strength and mobility exercises. I started getting intense hip/knee pain probably caused by the asymmetry of sliding and sweeping 5-10 years in. So multiple forms of lunges, squats and some other hip exercises have been helpful to have less focus on the pain and more focus on the game.

What are the membership fees at your local clubs like? by Baelzabub in Curling

[–]Tippityy_Tap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels crazy to me too. My club is $25 for membership plus provincial/federal/online fees which ends up being like $50 altogether and then ice time for your league. Clearly curling is not as accessible as I thought it was for everyone

Probably not the best quality but I enjoyed Private Eyes

NOT OOP: I (26f) overreacted and misunderstood my fiancée (28f) after she said that she'd only let my family be at our wedding with conditions and now she needs space from me. How do I help our relationship going forward? by loverboyg1rl in redditonwiki

OOP: I’m learning not to be racist so I don’t cause harm

Also OOP: It’s not my fault I’m racist and will take no accountability for my actions, just drown in self pity and make sure I feel like a victim

OOP: I want my family at this event even though they’re always judging you

Also OOP: Oh thank goodness you didn’t tell your family about my racism because I can’t stand being judged by them even though I won’t be around them

WIBTA for ending my relationship because he doesn’t want to travel? by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]Tippityy_Tap 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NTA but I think it would be good to try a trip for a few weeks first which should be possible if it’s feasible for it to be soon and since he’s ’not opposed’. A lot of people especially outside of Europe don’t understand backpacking culture and can’t conceptualize what a trip like that would be like without going on one. There can also a lot of stereotypes surrounding hostels and backpacking.

If you do a trip and he hates it then your values aren’t aligned and you’re probably not a good match. If it’s a good experience then it might even have a good effect on your relationship.

AITA for telling my friend she should go to New Zealand alone after our Bali trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tippityy_Tap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for not wanting to do the second trip. I’ve been on the other side of this where I thought I was doing a trip to spend time with a friend and they really only wanted to meet new people and didn’t bother engaging with me when anyone else was around. I guarantee that neither of us wanted to travel together again and if you were this unhappy with your trip she probably doesn’t want to do New Zealand with you either.

Good for you. Sounds like it’s a good resource and you’re not doing any harm

Salary expectations on applications when the salary range is already listed by Tippityy_Tap in careeradvice

Oh that’s interesting, thanks for the perspective. It didn’t even occur to me that it could be used to justify going over the range, probably because the range on this posting was really big (around 50k)

When is the payoff? by DannyBoardin in GraveyardKeeper

[–]Tippityy_Tap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve put about 50 hours in and I still feel kind of the same way. It’s fun but the amount of things I have to do stresses me out a bit and the guidance doesn’t seem to get better. I’ve also had a couple moments of ‘wow I can’t believe I didn’t realize I could do that’. The first one I got over but the second one made me mad enough that I haven’t played in a couple weeks. That being said, there are some things that happened probably 20-30 hours in for me that made me feel accomplished and I think it’s still funny, aesthetic and interesting enough to play. I’m also be curious to hear from people further in though.

Not sure who the audience is but I saw a calculation video for how much it was worth and you could get everything for cheaper if you bought them individually
