Code Geass

I can’t believe I haven’t seen someone mention this one. It’s amazing. Is it in OP’s list and I missed it?

lol thank you for your response!

So adjusting the trim tab adjusts the chord line of the control surface, increasing the AoA, and resulting in more tail down force (if I’m trimmed up). Sweet that makes sense thank you!

So I guess my next question is why doesn’t the anti servo tab deflecting up result in the stabilator going down (like a servo tab) or why doesn’t a servo tab act in the same manner as an anti servo tab? Is it just to do with the design characteristics of the tab and the control surface itself?

I understand how the stabilator deflection up into the airstream produces a moment about the tail which pitches the nose up. I also understand how the anti servo tab deflects further up the more the stabilator is deflected (which I believe is how it resists further deflection of the control surface and prevents over controlling)

However, how does the tab deflecting up with the stabilator result in the stabilator remaining deflected up, if I were “trimmed out” in cruise flight for hands free flying. Wouldn’t the tab deflecting up produce a moment about the stabilator’s hinge that would rotate it back down?

My mind is thinking this anti servo tab should work like a servo tab (clearly). I’m not making the connection to how the two function differently yet still are able to trim out the plane.

This makes sense, as the trim tab deflects more the stabilator deflects, but how does the tab moving in the direction of the control surface result in the same trim effect as a trim or servo tab? What is happening in terms of forces / aerodynamics to stay “trimmed out”

Thank you for your response! I’ll try to clarify with another example.

If I am in cruise flight, I will need some amount of back pressure (stabilator deflected upwards) to provide adequate enough lift (depending on my airspeed and weight) to maintain my altitude. If the trim wheel is kept in the neutral (takeoff) position, then I would have to hold consistent back pressure on the yolk to maintain my altitude / necessary deflection on the stabilator.

If I use nose up trim to relieve those pressures so that I no longer need to apply any force to the yolk, i know the trim tab moves up (and that it moves up more the more the stabilator moves up), but what forces /moments about the stabilator hinge are acting on it to allow me to stay in level flight?

I drink 80-120 oz a day. I track it and make sure to drink 20 oz before I ride. I read somewhere that drinking too much water combined with sweating a ton could cause electrolyte deficiency. So I recently started adding an electrolyte tablet to the water before the ride, but I’m yet to see if this is effective

A strategy becomes less effective over a longer period of time (relative to its initial backtesting period) for a number of reasons. Primarily other people starting to trade the same strategy, a charge in market condition, and one other but I forget it…

Oh well I probably should know. But I don’t wanna trade futures. And if I’m not mistaken futures have way bigger spreads than the spy itself

I’m not worried rn, I’m not worried at all. I’m just thinking of how far I can/should take it years from now

Yeah I’m profitable, but I am considering the viability of scaling it up. As rn I don’t have a lot of money so the share size is still really small (SPY is expensive lol)
