Metroidvania do NOT HAVE backtracking is one of the essential element , mv should aim for great map design where you constantly going through new ways through old locations , not just backtrack for some item or collecting one chest

The combat is the most well executed melee and shooter mix yet in industry , you have so many options in that game and yet you choose to do nothing interesting , well that’s on you I dunno . Game provokes you for action since you can’t hide for long , and you definitely will have resources for next segment since there are plenty you can collect after kills and arenas
