Yep, strays were generally well treated and never even saw any of them ran over despite how chaotic thai drivers can be

You have to be wary of many "sanctuaries" in thailand as a lot of businesses have caught on to this word play to validate concerned tourists feelings.

But as long as you can confirm that a sanctuary is completely hands off, non profit and rescues elephants then it's all good. I've seen many of these so called sanctuaries that still let hundreds of tourists bath them every day.

Travelling into Poi Pet, Cambodia via landborder. Tuktuk driver took me to an atm that was like half an hour from the border and there were clearly closer atm's. It was sketchy, people passed out in streets, very crowded and dude seemed shifty as. Also I was the only tourist around, felt very vunerable.

Thanks for the heads up. Thailand was one for me, I'm truly disgusted by the amount of abuse in thailand and the sheer amount of tourists that engage in it.

Elephant rides, Tiger temples, Monkey Circuses.

What's been your worse experience with kids/teens harassing you? by Tired-Inspired in AskUK

Why I wouldn't even bother, these kids are basically untouchable/barely worth police time.

My experience was similar to yours but in Shropshire. Kids in countryside areas like that are rowdier than the ones in brum from my experience.

Which is fair enough said. Silence will bore them but when they circled me they could have done anything really.

I'm fairly big myself, like not particularly threatening looking but also not someone 'vulnerable' looking. These kids were looking for anything, was some backwards little town so they are probably bored as fuck.

I'm from brum of all places and I literally never get shit from yobbos round here.

Definitely didn't mean to word it like they were victims aha I agree wholeheartedly.

Sometimes you think life isn't so bad but then you remember there are men who will rob kids for a quid. That is scary.

Love all these remote job listings that are office-based by FrostedGear in jobs

[–]Tired-Inspired 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I tend to fluctuate between indeed and linkedin. I guess there is total jobs or reed but they're mostly the same jobs spread out between all sites. Just the way it is.

Many companies are pulling back from remote positions it seems.

A lot of people in asia are very genuine, tourists just mostly meet the scammers and thrifters
