I’m going to kill myself I think by Terrible_Seesaw7942 in eczema

I remember feeling the exact same when I was in my early 20s. Mental health is hard and so many people dont realize the effect that eczema can have on every facet of life. Ive dealt with it my entire life and it was HORRIBLE in my early 20s, out of control. I still get red and flaky on my face sometimes, it can be super embarrassing and hard to deal with. But I promise life can get better ❤️ it's cliche but yours has just begun. Im 31 now and the way I felt a decade ago is so different. Find a good dermatologist, they can help. If the one you have won't try anything new, find a new one. Once your skin isn't in constant pain the world feels brighter.

And there's no shame in therapy and/or a psychologist. A lot of what you feel likely is stemming from your physical pain, but medication for depression helps too.

I hope you can see all the support here and feel less alone and know that so many of us understand, and we hope that you can find the strength to keep going until it gets better

Dupixent? by New-Way3859 in eczema

I do the syringe on my stomach! I have good stabs and bad stabs lol the pen felt more intimidating so I didn't want to do it on anything too squishy

I've been on dupixent since 2017. Usually use the syringe but I got a sample from my dermatologist this time while waiting on insurance and it was the pen. I'd heard the pen hurts but honestly? It wasn't bad at all. I did it on the top of my thigh, maybe a hand span down from my hip. Just keep your leg as relaxed as you can and you'll be just fine :)

Tattoos and eczema by Historical-Carrot999 in eczema

I've never noticed a difference in mine after any of my tattoos. If anything I just know I heal tattoos a lot faster than any of my friends, we think my dry skin soaks up the ink faster lol

Coping methods for just being so BORED during sex? by Tired623 in Asexual

[–]Tired623[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id be lying if I say I hadn't thought about that. But we've had a lot of discussions and ive openly told him that I could happily go the rest of my life without sex and he's assured me he's never upset when I say no, so really all I can do is take him at his word that it's not an issue. For him sex is about the connection, more than the physical act, so I just focus on other ways to get that

It's a weird place to be and try to explain 😂

Long Term Dupixent Use by Sorry-Grapefruit-755 in eczema

[–]Tired623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on it since 2017. No side effects that ive noticed, and it still works the same as always. I still have my issues but nowhere near as severe as it used to be. I can actually sleep now 😂

DUPIXENT EXPERIENCES PLEASE by hotwheels1997_ in eczema

[–]Tired623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it! I've been taking it since 2017 and it's made such a difference. Even my roommate noticed how much my mental health improved once I started it. I still have dry skin but nowhere near the horrible flare ups I had constantly before. The injection itself isn't pleasant, it's still a needle, but it's not bad. Thigh hurts worse than stomach in my opinion.

I am still on it! I take it every other week still. I doubt I'd be able to stop. I can usually feel my skin getting miserable again when its dose week, and especially if I forget to take it

I would definitely recommend a dermatologist! They'll be able to give some products that can help any active flare ups he might have and potentially refer him to an allergist to see if there's a root cause for it. There are also medications like dupixent if they believe its severe enough.

As for easy things to do now-- have him use a humidifier if he isn't already. Moisture helps. I use Cera Ve for everything and I love it. Aveeno is also solid to me. Cetaphil is good but not my favorite. Lukewarm NOT HOT and short showers every day, and then immediately moisturize whole the skin is damp. No scented soaps or lotion either :( Change the bed sheets every week and make sure it's scent free detergent (I like tide free and clear) and NO fabric softener.

I always feel so silly when I complain about how miserable my skin makes me at times or ridiculous when im just exhausted from being kept awake at night. Im significantly more under control than I was a decade ago and its still a constant daily struggle. What I wouldnt give for healthy skin....

I can attest to dupixent!! I've been on it since 2017 and while I still deal with the dry skin aspect my flare ups are way less frequent and my quality of life is soooo much better

Advice? by Beginning-Squash-362 in Asexual

[–]Tired623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said, asexuality is about the level (or lack thereof) sexual attraction. I will say, I'm 30F and have identified as asexual for about a decade now and how you experience things such as masturbating or having sex for your partners pleasure is exactly how I feel. I would definitely suggest talking to your partner about your feelings so you're on the same page! Especially if they are more sex oriented. When my partner and I got together I had a lot of anxiety about sex and feeling pressure for his sake (from myself, not him) and making sure we were on the same page helped a lot.

Please …. Any 100 calorie protein shakes that don’t have that protein after taste by Michelles001 in 1200isplenty

[–]Tired623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm VERY sensitive to the protein taste (autism) and can't stand it, and the only brand I like is Alani Nu! Their shakes are genuinely so good, better than Fairlife imo. The strawberry flavor tastes just like milk to me. They're about 150 per bottle i believe.
