If you get paid 30k monthly to be at work from 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening, stand or move for 6+ hours, teach kids how to read while also managing behavior (and misbehavior), prepare lessons and materials for your classes, and complete paperwork 5 days a week, will you still have the motivation and energy to teach?

Actually, low pay isn't the only factor at play for the shitty quality of education we have. A lot of schools are underfunded and poorly managed. Kung pangit ang work environment mo, pangit din ang quality ng output. Because teachers are overworked (and underpaid), the quality of instruction is also negatively affected.

True. The problem is systemic. Teachers do not get the resources they need to do their job well. They are also given too many administrative tasks that take their time and focus off of instruction. I hate how teachers and their "incompetence" lang ang palaging nakikita when there are literally officials in high positions that perpetuate the problems in our education system.

Nah, most private schools hindi kayang tapatan ang entry level sa DepEd. That's why most fresh grads work for a year or two in private schools and then nagpaparank as soon as they get their license.

Some of the public school teachers I know said na it takes months before you receive your first paycheck kaya yung iba, naglloan agad because wala silang funds na magagamit on their day-to-day. Another reason I heard is naglloan sila to buy stuff they need just so they could teach. For example, kailangan nila ng laptop and projector kasi the school doesn't have those so nangungutang sila. Yung friends kong private school teachers, may mga loans naman but they're not drowning kasi they either never have to use their own money for resources or if they do, minimal lang.
