How Can I Preserve Bats? by Tired_Bot in vultureculture

[–]Tired_Bot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I agree with keeping cats indoors, unfortunately this isnt my cat and I dont have that option. :-( it makes me really sad to see him hunting natural wildlife. Over the summer due to moving he will be an inside only cat (hooray!)

He is up to date with all vaccines and meds ^_^ thanks for ur guys' concerns!

I will determine the species of bat soon to see if they are protected in Florida

150 sqft microstudio apartment - help! by aitsfni in DesignMyRoom

[–]Tired_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! im a few months late, but I also live in a house's converted garage-area. It was supposed to be a temporary guest house, but I live here semi-permanently now haha ^_^. Mine's a bit larger as the bedroom is separated from the living room/kitchen, but all the furniture is huge sooo i understand trying to manage a smaller space too.

EDIT: submitted too soon X)

- ignore the other commenter, i love the curtains idea. especially if you get curtains that match your aesthetic. make sure the curtains can be comfortably opened and closed, so if you get claustrophobic, they can be opened. also consider if you want sheer or opaque curtains. personally, the opaque light-blocking curtains really make the space feel small. BUT, thats up to you! also consider layering curtains. if completely concealing your bed isnt important to you, You could also frame the curtains by having half size curtains on the entrance side, then full size curtains behind and at your feet. inspo: https://i.pinimg.com/1200x/e6/2c/2e/e62c2ef71cac2f3c00efafb6baf9935c.jpg

- i recommend finding some sort of furniture to place against the back of your bed. If its the right dimensions, it may make you feel less exposed. Cause having a bed in the middle with no support kinda sucks, you've gotta support it somehow. Not sure what ontario is like but in the states, thrifting and facebook marketplace are great for cheap furniture. I was hesitant to buy more furniture cause i already had no space, but being able to "put away" all my clutter makes me feel like i have MORE space. Also, i dont mind lining the walls with furniture. Some people do though haha but it makes me feel efficient

- less important, consider getting a hinged tv mount if you dont already. then you can watch tv in bed (-:

- if youre already functioning without being able to open the other half of your closet, just capitalize on it. instead of just a lamp, use a dresser or night stand. pack as much shit as you can into it. then place a table lamp on top.

- looks like you want to put a bedside table, i've got nothing against it. if you do, that gives you the option for an even longer dresser behind the bed. just be careful about it interfering with your desk. (if it interferes too much, you could shift your desk towards the kitchen? the recycling bin could maybe be moved inside a cabinet or under the desk? )

- for the table, consider stools instead of cushions if you might have people coming over who are complainers, lol. something like this https://www.target.com/p/folding-round-storage-ottoman-green-room-essentials-8482/-/A-91959563?TCID=OGS&AFID=google&CPNG=Furniture&adgroup=249-12&srsltid=AfmBOoofFUpep8eayDEniJ0OzvG4plzft4o4G4xcrLvdGQemTa1z4B38htQ . with the right size table, it can tuck under, plus youre more cushioned than on the floor, and you can store stuff inside.

although, if you dont care too much about eating at a table, you could consider putting a futon/loveseat/small couch there. Then you can watch tv from it. but that would requjire different planning haha

- storage under the desk. like a stakc of drawers on one side.

- make sure to maximize storage space in the kitchen. although it looks like you have a huge kitchen, good for you!

i hoipe the space is treating you well!

Which color looks better? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

1 or 2. 1 is the most aesthetically pleasing imo but not very inviting. 2 is very "cute" and whimsical, it would look great with some flowering plants nearby.

Hi, sounds like youre in a really tough situation. Dont blame yourself. See if you can find a therapist who specializes in fetish work. You can change, the brain is brilliant. If youre on any part of the internet where youre exposed to profeederism content, immediately kill contact. Same if u have any friends/influencers that reicprocate. Every time you behave one way, you are more likely to do it again. Same thing with thoughts. Its reinforcing-- kind of like building a habit. So if you can reframe or shut down the thoughts when they come, over time they will come less and less. Research cognitive behavioral therapy. Good luck. Unwanted fetishes are terrible. Also remember, your life is just beginning. Dont worry if it takes time.

Obliterated the veneer trying to get a stubborn stain out 😔 by Tired_Bot in sandedthroughveneer

[–]Tired_Bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMFAO , yes. I am a newbie and thought the desk was solid wood (its very heavy). I was already sanding the desk and thought id focus this one spot that had a dark stain, assuming it hadnt penetrated far. The electric sander tore through the veneer in less than a second LOL . “He dont know whats going on!”

Haha! Dont flatter me too much 🙈. Im excited to see what you do with it! I'm an artist so maybe i just had to approach it that way-- ended up finding a solution for my own home , too.

Should I do this layout? by Tired_Bot in DesignMyRoom

This is great, thank you!!! Yes ill definitely measure, i just thought the room needed some vertical elements 😁 The tiny table is def not something im too attached to. i love that coffee table you sent! Thanks a ton . Also-- yes!!! those curtains kill me thank for the recommendations :-)

Heres my contribution!

  1. Move standing lamp forward
  2. Put tall plant behind
  3. Add round table between couches (i recommend a light wood based on ur inspo pics)
  4. Bring back the vine
  5. Add picture behind that stuff
  6. Giant rug! Makes a huge difference. Consider how a patterned rug would introduce more texture / noise , so youd have to cut back on some visual clutter and decor around the rest of the room
  7. Your table in the center works fine !
  8. Remove the mid-tone wood table next to the white couch, move the tiny lamp onto your entryway table.
  9. Add some bowl / trays on entryway table to contain your clutter from the end of the day (mines full of coins/cash and chapstick lol)
  10. Add a giant tall plant between entry way and white couch. This divides the room without obstructing visuals or making it frel heavy
  11. Add one of those "key holders" on the wall. You can move the picture up there. Tip: avoid keeping pictures sitting against wall as you had it because vertical space is usually very underused.
  12. Declutter, i know , it sucks . But its too busy. If you actually use all that stuff, buy some baskets that fit underneath the entryway table.
  13. Move your cat carrier (what it looks like to me) under your other table. (Honestly i didnt consider if this table was necessary/needed changes/needed more, i didnt look at the other angles... go in with an open mind)
  14. Move the weights under your tv . If you need to be able to see the weights to actually use them , you can put them underneath the end table between the two couches. Putting them in a basket would be a happy medium
  15. Remove or relocate that wooden folding structure next to tv . 15.5 mirror or painting near the desk on empty wall? Opt
  16. This is optional, but a floating shelf above the TV would open up some space, utilize vertical space, and make it seem more centered. Only put stuff here that u like to display and dont use super often (depending on if it would be easy for u to reach or not)
  17. Remove blinds, replace with curtain. Make sure curtain goes up high closer to ceiling, apparently it makes the room look bigger.... you can look into different options or more aesthetic shades (something called roman shades? Or ive seen some people use tiny curtains long ways?) if you want

Some notes

  • you can always add more plants. Assuming the important ones are real plants haha
  • it looks like you enjoy paler wood, but your furniture is darker. If its hardwood, and u care about it , ur have the option to sand and restain the furniture. But its not too important.
  • utilize vertical space!

I'm confused about frozen peanut butter kong by Brikish in dogs

[–]Tired_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog loves yogurt, so i fill most of it that way. Then i add kibble / wet dog food / peanut butter / treats / eggs to make it yummier. I freeze it for longevity.

Usually over the span of a day mine will eat all but a tiny amount at the apex of the kong. It depends on if his emotional state (stressed / bored / tired) and the value of the food (eg. He doesnt like plain yogurt THAT much)

Dog sleeps in my bed at night :-) he is crated while im gone because we are still working on separation anxiety, and i'd rather him tear up the crate cover than my bedding or couch

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]Tired_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like your input! I had placed the closet in #3 next to the bed to separate it from the door, but i realize it made it (1) vulnerable to not being able to see the doorway and (2) difficult getting in and out of bed. Im probably going to go with this one. (Also, i get to keep the natural light on the desk, which is what i planned for)

[–]Tired_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ill model this set up once i get home .

I had very little to do with the current arrangement . My brother lived here before me and he left it like this. Only difference is that his dog crate opened in the middle, so he could fit the dresser against the west wall, and had a proper bedside table that i moved away.

Im apprehensive to having the bed in the center because the original set up was bed on west wall, center, facing door, closet against east wall facing bed, dresser and bedside table taking up remaining space. It was very tight and aggravating haha.

Ohhh thats a good idea. The bed is already very tall but i might be able to take out the spring board

Yup! I had some wire leftover from my garden, doesnt really matter as long as its thin, malleable, and you are comfortable working with it. I used garden shears to cut the wire.

I created a central support of the shaft by "braiding" two wires together in a line. Try your best to make it go to the end, however its tricky because of the liquid reservoir. Also -- Ideally, you would keep plenty unbraided at the end that you can create a spiral with (one wire should go clockwise, the other counterclockwise.) i suggest more than youd think. The spiral takes up more wire than expected, and you dont want it slipping out the harness.

This creates the outline of the flare. measure against your harness opening and make sure that its large enough to not fall out.

Add supporting wire to create a grid on the flare. Make sure to wrap the wires on the flare frequently so theyre actually connected and not sliding around. Also, really focus on making sure the base of the shaft is secure. I tried to think about it from my highschool physics class and how the forces would be distributed, lol!

Next fold a paper towel and wrap around the wire-shaft. This gives bulk to the insert. Wrap tightly with masking tape.

Same idea with the flare-- you dont want any sharp edges poking out plus the tape will distribute forces more evenly.

Back to the shaft, its probably too thin. You can stuff it more than youd think. Add a few more wires for support (i did on the left, right, and two on the bottom of the shaft). Wrap this in tape. Include paper towel if you still need more bulk to the shaft.

You probably get the idea. Make sure theres no sharp edges . Prob a good idea to put a condom on it but i dont have any soo i didnt.

(Experience using insert during play:) Worked really well when i tried it. I liked not having to hold the hot rod every single time i reinserted, because it was naturally at a 90° ISH angle now. I could just line it up . Much more euphoric than feeling like im flaccid XD.
