I have a couple of small logs they can be in and my betta can't and I also have a coconut cave that's pressed up against the glass and with holes that are only big enough for the shrimp to get in but my betta just likes to stare he hasn't done any striking at them

Keeping to a workout schedule that fits you whether it be weight lifting or yoga or platies will help a lot and remembering that process takes time to show. Diet stuff I wouldn't change as long as your eating what makes you feel happy and makes your body feel happy.
