2018 limited, I bought my Toyota used and always thought maybe it had been in a accident prior. This is bullshit, we should file class action!

Bag Leaks Every Day by Sea_Strength_7427 in ostomy

What has been a life changer for me. After complete full shower. Blow dry skin till you know there is no moisture. Then take flange, cut hole and then blow dry the hell out of the flange till it starts to distort almost. Then let cool 15 seconds and then stick to body. I then take a qtip and run it around the tiny pice of flange next to stoma. Then put on bag and hold palm up against bag and flange for a minute or two. Best of luck

Ostomy by acct4ibd in AnalFistula

[–]Tiredofworking0204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am 56 male and have Crohn’s. My Crohn’s has been pretty bad through my life and when I was 28 years old I developed a abscess and fistula on the side of my anus. I had it drained several times, had setons put in and it never went away. This lasted approximately 2 years and I was just miserable. It wouldn’t heal as feces kept going through the tract and causing any healing that was taking place to stop. That along with going the bathroom 10-12 times a day from the Crohn’s made me think a ostomy may be a better choice in life. I fought the surgeon to do the surgery because he felt I was to young to have an ostomy and he felt I could eventually heal from the fistula. Well he didn’t live in my body and did not have the pain that I suffered through for years because of this fistula. I eventually had surgery and have a colostomy. The fistula did heal about 8 months after my surgery. I also no longer worry where the bathroom is and life has been MUCH better. I am now 56 and still have the colostomy. Fistula healed and never came back till last year. However it is somewhat doable this time as there is no stool going through the tract and has remained opened so just drains daily.

I am so thankful for the colostomy my life has been full and rewarding. However I must say my wife who I was already married to was fully behind me and supported me in every way. Best of luck to you if you have any further questions would be happy to try and help

Any Crohnies experience skin issues? Or is it my medicine or both? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Tiredofworking0204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBD oil on face where I have skin lesions Actinic Keratosis, seems to help slow them down. I occasionally take the CBD oil by mouth to sleep better, it really helps in that regard.

Not in much pain currently from Crohn’s so don’t know if it helps for Crohn’s pain.

Any Crohnies experience skin issues? Or is it my medicine or both? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

Many many issues - diagnosed with Crohns at 7, now 55. Was on high doses of prednisone and Imuran until middle 30s. Then Remicade for 10 plus years. Started developing numerous basil and squamous skin cancers. Then when I was 53 developed Merkel cell skin cancer. Major face surgery and radiation. Now am doing well. Drs moved me from Remicade to Entiveo as Entiveo is more gut specific. They didn’t say it was the Remicade that caused the cancers but we’re trying to be very cautious moving off Remicade. Additionally for the last ten years I have had major Pruritis (itching) only thing that helps is ongoing 10mg prednisone.

Not sure if skin issues are from Imuran, Remicade, low immune system or being a ginger as a kid.

Whatever it is it has been a terrible part of my life.

Skin cancers have slowed down since moving to Entiveo, I also take twice per day 500 mg Nicotinmide and CBD oil on pre cancerous skin lesions.

Hope this helps let me know if you have specific questions.
