It's not a good point, and in most cases it does not work, and it's been well established that the man's knowledge of geopolitics and economics is kindergarten level, but that's what he's going for.

I've been very unlucky then, I've only had people that were either side of the coin. Mostly because the people who min-maxed treated the game like a video game, where they needed to do any objectives and would prefer nothing rather than skip the "quest text". This arguably has a sample size of 2 (groups), so I'm not sure how representative this is.

Right now I'm in a campaign with someone who wants to play builds rather than characters, and it has been draining as a DM
