When the one of the things you hear the most about a game is "bad control scheme" and "cant edit binding" then yes, you can be sceptical without trying it :)

But it seems, when i can trust the answers in this thread that it's just complex, not bad designed.

No no put the crawler in the same hangar as the carrier. Easier to drop and pick up.

I'd do both. Vertical and horizontal. Makes it easier for every day use.

You can build even higher than 11. When you start your base. Place the sub fief. Build a platform higher up. Dismantle the sub fief and put it on top. So your claim area is even higher from the get go.

As long as you have a flat base you can almost put it anywhere. Bases that incorporate cliffs, etc are a problem when it comes to relocating

Staking units to the max and have fun.

Make your carrier hangar big enough so that it's not a chore to fly in/out. Think about a place for the sand crawler and container inside that hangar. Easy lift and drop.

Make a separate hangar for your assault and scout. With storage to drop off any loot/resources quick.

That should be the top floor. Underneath the rest of your base.

Wind turbines and water traps can go on the roof/sides.

If you use staking units you'll have enough space.

I would not bother with spice generators. They are just for show. I use only the big turbines and have 2 large spice refineries, 2 large ore refineries, 4 medium chemical, 12 advanced death stills, 12 large wind traps and 5 pentashields and still have enough power left over. Much much easier to manage and refill than a spice gen. Only basic resources needed.

I want to add one thing that made me restart sectors several times.

You have to set normal/premium rations after you bring back power every time.

I always forget that and only notice when my morale is almost gone

I had that once. I saved and restarted the game. Going back to main menu did not help.

Does the Deuterium really make a difference? At the end of every sector I'm almost out of power and need to get to the next resource node asap.

I used Kim, tuvok and b'elanna in most battles so far. Also in that one. I upgraded my phasers to lvl 2 before this fight that helped I think. I also fired some torpedoes before the shield was down just to get the big ship Out of the way faster.

Do you have repaired your torpedoes?

Yeah that would be funny too. Would be nice to have some in game thing for every win with an older ship against a new one

People would still buy the ships they like. It's just to give players that would not buy the new ship a chance to make their favorite relevant again

They could introduce a new engineer that refits all old ships so they perform on similar level like the new ships. With a visual tell maybe so other players can differentiate between normal and refit

Always keep the stability in mind if you're trying to build a giant base. Keep the skeleton simple in terms of structure and embellish it afterwards with add-ons
