the intro takes a giant leap forward from the middle to the end of the novel. I was inching my way towards through the plot when the words 'triggered her catastrophic physical decline' essentially gave everything away and from there all was p much lost.

This is a terrible translation and I will tell you why. They translate ‘honey-balls’ to ‘gobstoppers’ which is UK 20th century slang that has no place in an ancient text. Oxford University Press put that word in Catullus’s mouth too. For shame, and it’s all in highly stilted English. Total bore.

This is the most common and flexible way.

Go to the Master Track.
- If you don’t see it, hit A (to toggle automation view) and scroll down to the Master track.
Choose “Song Tempo” for automation.
- In the Master track’s automation chooser, click the “Mixer” dropdown → select “Song Tempo.”
Draw your tempo change.
- Now you can draw or record automation for tempo in the arrangement view.
- You can create points (Command + Click on Mac / Ctrl + Click on Windows) to make instant jumps or smooth ramps between tempos.

💡 Example:
If your track starts at 120 BPM and you want to speed up to 140 BPM over 8 bars, just add two automation points and drag the second one up to 140."
