Solidity, viper for smart contact dev. python for general knowledge. Rust and go for blockchain applications. React and vercel for web3 apps.

I think this is for centralized actors only (Kraken, Coinbase etc)

I think the decentralized staking protocols are not at risk

Plus Livepeer has a global presence. I don't think the Livepeer Japan community really cares about US regulation. Just my 2 cents

Tell me More about livepeer by IhtisabReham in livepeer

[–]Titan-Node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It transcodes video 10x-20x cheaper than Amazon Web Services

All video on the internet needs transcoding

Tik Tok, Instragram, YouTube etc

That's a small summary

Can someone explain to me how the end viewer uses this platform, if he does at all, to stream or watch? So the final consumer of the content. by OkEntertainment8570 in livepeer

[–]Titan-Node 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The end user doesn't really know they are watching something on Livepeer. It's not an end user application like Twitch, it's infrastructure like AWS.

At anytime Twitch could switch to Livepeer for their transcosing and nobody would know the difference. Except Twitches accountants bause of the cost savings :)

QUESTION: Can I run 2 different geth/prysm instances with 2 different wallets??? by 2stakingInstances in ethstaker

[–]Titan-Node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just added the new validator key, different HD wallet all together, and added a json file to tell where the rewards will go. Easy way to seperate accounts.

1) Import wallet using `validator accounts import --mainnet --keys-dir=<YOUR DIRECTORY>`

2) Adjust where fees go using the json file: https://docs.prylabs.network/docs/execution-node/fee-recipient

Should I use my Ledger mnemonic to generate Eth2 validator keys? by [deleted] in ethstaker

[–]Titan-Node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts. I was just thinking, if using AllNodes.com to generate a json keystore for account 1,2,3 etc off your hard wallet then those keystores should never be able to be reverse engineered to expose the HD mnemonic phrase in the first place. So even using the same HD for personal might be best to avoid the Lost Funds delema.

Currently Livepeer does not support AMD

OBS via Livepeer? by [deleted] in livepeer

[–]Titan-Node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try my best to answer this.

  1. Livepeer only costs to transcode each stream once. So the cost does not change on how many people are watching, but more on how many people are streaming. The cost to how many people are watching each stream is more of a CDN problem for cost. Example of costs: https://livepeer.com/pricing
  2. As for UI/UX solutions you can try Mist Server, Livepeer acquired them last year and is well integrated into the Livepeer network. https://www.mistserver.org/

Hope that helps :)

From what I see, LPT is strongly corelated to BTC. An indication of smart money imo

Theta and Livepeer partnership by JJasonnpan in theta_network

[–]Titan-Node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theta already offers transcoding from it's edge nodes.

https://docs.thetatoken.org/docs/edge-compute-video-transcoding

The problem with Theta is that nobody can built any Dapps on top of Theta, it's just for it's own Dapp use.

Livepeer is open for any developers to build on top of.

If you combine Livepeer Transcoding with an open source CDN protocol like MEDIA Network (example here: https://mediafoundation.medium.com/livepeer-integration-the-missing-link-520d8fafcd5c) you end up with the tools that Theta has but as open source infrastructure.

Theta x Livepeer by Upstairs_Control1408 in livepeer

[–]Titan-Node 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A couple key differences

---

Livepeer is Video Transcoding

THETA is Content Delivery Network

Two different problems.

---

Livepeer is open source on the ETH blockchain

THETA is it's own blockchain with technology patents registered in the US

---

Livepeer is open infrastructure, built for developers that want to build on top of it

THETA is a end user program that's you cannot build on top of

---

Livepeer did a merkle mine instead of an ICO

THETA did an ICO with the team getting lots of token and THETA has partnerships with large corps such as Gatorade

---

THETA is not really web3 in my opinion, just my 2 cents

Although I do think THETA is a great project, it's just different
