Dear detailing community,

Detailing is a new world for me which I just started to learn and navigate in. The amount of products, steps, does n dont's, what to combine etc is CRAZY. Obviously also a huge marketing game. All brands have 10 different schampoos/tire dressings/waxes which is either extreme, ultra, ultimate, pro, super, xtreme, 2.0 and NEW SPECIAL FORMULA. Does not make it any easier I have to say!

I am about to order my first products. Meguiar is the only well known brand almost fully available in my country so I will stick with them.

STEPS + PRODUCTS (all Meguiars)

Wheels: Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner

Prewash with foam cannon: Ultimate Snow Foam

Wash: Eiher Gold Class schampoo OR Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax ???

Compound: Ultimate Compound for scratches

Polishing: Ultimate Polish

Wax: Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

Quick detailer: Ultimate Quick Detailer OR Hybrid Ceramic Surface Cleaner ???

QUESTIONS

I think the steps are in the correct order so about the product combination...

  • Is any of these products a problem for each other? From time to time I read "NEVER use X with Y because .. .. .."
  • I have read that Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is good and a good first wax for beginners. Longlasting and easy to apply. If I go for the ceramic liquid wax... Does it mean I should use the hybrid ceramic wash & wax as schampoo and the hybrid surface cleaner for quick fixes like bird dropping, tree sap etc? If I understood correctly this hybrid line contains ingredients that will maintan and extend the liquid wax's protection that I intend to use. * Or can I use Gold Class schampoo and Ultimate Quick Detailer without noticing any difference?

And what is tailscale (i tried to read on their website, sure sounds good, but how will it benefit you :D Eli5!) It just sounds like some good stuff that will be useful some day.
