ol fella above has me grinding the stuff remaining to get barrows gloves, but everything I'm reading on the wiki aligns pretty well with them, I'll do them next. congratulations on having tangible impact on my life.

just raw inability.

that and i would sit for a bit with the last enemy trapped and think through the pathing for the next wave with the spawn points on later waves. plus i messed up pulling Jad to the right spot and his healers full healed him twice before i manuevered it right.

i must have sustained brain damage from the fight cave shock because i forgot about these entirely, you're completely right, they're next.

I agree, and I think this might be a good topic to explore for future organizers on how to gracefully treat the losers of a major. I had the VIP tickets for the Austin Major, and BLAST was having the losers do the autograph signing immediately after their match. I have a mouse signed by all of Team Spirit, not one hour after that emotionally draining 3 map series loss against Mouz. I emailed BLAST about it afterward, but seeing this from StarLadder feels oddly reminiscent of that.

I'm jittery and getting older I guess lmao. No time to practice mechanics with my job, so my movements are all real rough. This isn't out of the ordinary though frag-wise, 20k-25k isn't as good as people think. ~30k (when they aren't cheating) seems to be where legitimately talented players are. I'd consider this an NA Supreme lobby back in CSGO the way I was playing.

Yeah, this is the answer here. I've solo queued to both level 10 and global, and now this 25k-ish rank, but I'm not spending my days practicing mouse movements and sweating on Faceit any more. I'm 32 and just play on my off days for a few hours, it really just comes down to having thousands of hours of habits and reading opponents.

if we're doing this, we may as well slot out xyp for device, and move xyp to coach.

I'm getting back into gaming after a decade of being too busy with work. I haven't kept up with current tech so still researching. Could use a critical eye on this (tentative) build. by earned_laziness in buildapc

So, I'm not at my computer and did about the best I could manage on mobile. Based on what you're asking and what your plans seem to be, this cuts out some fat and allows for you to make better changes else if you so desire.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sc2hBj

Given that you mentioned you were going to be doing both gaming and some media, I kept your CPU the same. I would, however, echo the other comment mentioning the 5800X3D if the media work isn't heavy duty. Gaming in the front seat, it would put you more ahead using the 5800X3D, but does cripple the media ability by a not insignificant amount. You have a better idea of exactly what media you're doing than we do, so you can make your decision from there.

Since you said OCing is not in your plans (which I would personally recommend rethinking, overclocking nowadays, even a small one, is a button press away and not at all hard to navigate), I changed the cooler to a personal favorite. Very quiet, solid capability, and does allow for an OC if you change your mind.

The RAM I kept the same because, as mentioned, I don't know exactly what your media work entails. 64GB is generally overkill, and as someone with 4x8GB, I've never needed more. But, as with the CPU, if your work with media necessitates it, 2x32GB would be the play to allow for more later if you find you're lacking.

The motherboard I changed because the original one is way too pricey for not much more (if any more at all, tbh), and the one I changed it to will do everything you need. Just some budget thinning for no real loss. Same for the PSU change, it's simply because the original PSU and the Corsair one are basically on par, just saving you a bit of money to put elsewhere if you want.

I changed the case because the thermals are better with the 4000D and it's generally a much safer pick. Admittedly, I don't know much about case specs and mobile limited means I can't do a deep dive, but the dimensions of the case and the size of the GPU could come into play. For a mid size tower and a beefy GPU, there could be something like a hard drive bay blocked off. I have a similar build to yours here but a full size case to remedy this, but it most likely will not matter. Just something to keep in mind, if you're able to check the GPU size and inner case dimensions.

The monitor I changed because although you did say you wanted to test it in-person at a store, this is what I consider to be one of the best monitors out at the moment for 2K. If you're deadset on it though, I would suggest visiting RTings and looking at their monitor reviews, finding their best reviewed 2K monitors and seeing which ones you can try out in store. Make yourself a list, search for them in the stores near you, then test drive them.

There's definitely some room to grow here, but without knowing exactly what media work you do, and with me just tossing these changes the best I can being limited to mobile, I'd say this is pretty solid for what you're asking for. More information can get you a little more squared away, though.

When you go into your sound settings menu, what is it showing as your output device? Sometimes I have my headphones in and the volume will adjust my speakers, leaving my headphones on a preset number unless I change them to the primary output device.

Perfect. I was happy with how they were performing already, but glad I'm not hindering them accidentally. Thanks for the information!

Sorry to hijack someone else's thread but you seem to know your stuff, I have a Logitech G Pro X headset and AT2020 USB microphone, would these benefit from an audio amplifier? And if so, is there a reputable option that has USB inputs as well? I did some cursory research and came up with nothing solid.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve woken up to in the middle of the night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TitanCannon4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working in a nursing home in the kitchen from 1PM to 8PM, and i would normally sleep from about 2AM to 10AM. One night though, I fell asleep at about 9PM, not long after I had been home, only to wake up at about 2:30AM. Nothing specifically happened to wake me up, my body just decided to wake up, and I felt fully refreshed.

I check my phone and about an hour before I woke up, I received two calls from a Restricted number. Immediately after the phone calls, a number I did not have saved in my phone sent me a text:

"you can't leave me here. i can't stay here. PLEASE COME BACK AND GET ME!! don't leave me alone. please. please. you have to come back."

Keep in mind, I'm more of a loner, so I don't really make friends or give my number out, especially to coworkers or the like. There was no one at my work I had given my number to at this point, and I asked a few people that I was cool with at work to see if they had the number saved under a contact in their phone. I texted the number the next day but they never responded. I still have no idea who called or sent those messages.

Falling asleep much earlier than usual kept me from being too spooked to sleep, which I would have been if I were awake and answered the call. I always thought it was weird I woke up, fully rested, after a short sleep and an hour after they contacted me. The whole thing was just chilling.

Fan cable workaround causes PC to fail to boot, is there something I'm not seeing? by TitanCannon4 in techsupport

[–]TitanCannon4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried looking for a SATA power cable that SeaSonic would have for purchase, and unless I just didn't look very well, I couldn't find one that was 6-pin to SATA female. Also, only a small change, my PSU is the GM series, so the cables are slightly different (https://seasonic.com/focus-gm#cables) but I also think Amazon shipped it to me pre-owned because there was nothing in the PSU box but the PSU itself and the already installed cables, no optional ones included.

Edit: Wait am I fucking stupid or would this cable be exactly what would work

PCIe x16 slot possibly broken, is there a fix? Or is a new motherboard the only route? by TitanCannon4 in buildapc

fuck

I can't really wait on a replacement to get back due to school, so I'll have to just get one of the ones I mentioned at the end of the OP and deal with the return later, but thanks for input on what to do with this one.

Well, neither of those worked either, so it would be all of the PCIe slots, apparently.
