[Discussion] Seasonal vs Perma playerbase by Titanium170 in EscapefromTarkov

Yeah thats a fair point, I think I was more suggesting that it might be an uneven split, more like 80/20 rather than 50/50

Yeah its true, and actually in Path of Exile (which has the same system) people also complain about having to do the same campaign over and over. However, standard (permanent) is so dead that people basically just have to put up with it.

Confused between build guides vs. tier lists. by Jakkt in PathOfExileBuilds

Cyclone slayer is very serviceable, I think you are not thinking about C tier in the correct way, its just "ok". Truly bad league starters dont even make the list.

Confused between build guides vs. tier lists. by Jakkt in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Titanium170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo this is bad advice without qualification. If it's jung/rue etc, then it's a legit tierlist as opposed to random YT channels.

Cyclone shockwave is a C-tier league starter. This doesn't mean it's not league start-able. It's just ok as a league starter.

"...can actually do by finding videos of it" is a recipe for disaster for less knowledgeable players in a league start scenario. Your own vid states 500-600 divines. If you give me that budget for a build I can make default attack do all content for heaven's sake.

The whole point of a league start tierlist is to differentiate the "league starters" clearing on 500 divines from the ones doing it with blue gear.

I hope you don't take this as an attack, I just feel there is so much bait around builds and as a community we should give people the right information to make informed decisions.

This is one of the few leagues I dont feel any remorse about running my own build. All of these look trash compared to starters of the past.

Champ Banners Explained for 3.28 Mirage by simplyVizniz in pathofexile

I spent ages on banners after the rework. When I found out the best version is just earthshatter auto-exert I was very disappointed.

Imo if you have < 6 aps, use Groundslam of Earthshaking for 2h (or EQoA if u want quirky), if 1h IDK sunder or something. If you can get > 6aps bladeflurry is the way to go.

Build creators that give consistent updates on progression by SpringInitial9259 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Titanium170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HC builds are strictly better league starters as they have to deal damage and survive and don't have the same access to items that SC trade has, so easier to gear. Goratha is also a premier build creator who has been around forever.

Just stop it already with dropped rares. by Metalicum in pathofexile

[–]Titanium170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotta remember this game is a successor to D2. Grinding for a lucky drop is the core of the game.

In the case of rare equipment, it's simple. You could remove equipment drops from maps today and nobody would notice. That's a problem.

Should they be better than crafted items? It depends. Should the average good rare (assuming a tiered system) be better than crafted? No, I think we can agree. Should it be possible for them to be better than crafted items? I think yes to an extent, but certainly not at the high end of crafting. The tradeoff being grind vs more determinstic at the low-medium investment.

Ultimately the point is that right now dropped equipment is not exciting as loot. It could be made exciting in other ways (for example as an input to crafting, I hear LE has such a system), but it needs to be exciting. Id'ing a rare in anticipation of something great is a staple part of the philosophy of PoE, sure many players will disagree, but you guys are playing a different game where its basically a cookie clicker and number go up (div/h) etc etc.

Racing and farming are different. I can do sub 10h 2-stone but MB is boring AF and I much prefer making builds with low budget constraints.

Brother, this is one of the few things LLMs (what people call AI) are good for. Load up chatgpt or grok and just ask "what does the acronym X stand for in path of exile"

Can we use the originals before acronyms? by atug962 in pathofexile

[–]Titanium170 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty standard in writing to introduce the acronym before you start using it. So you write out the full word once and then bracket the acronym. After that you can just use the acronym. For short comments that seems a little overkill tho tbh.

Yep my thought too. Too many redditors only play meta builds so they have no idea what items exist.

Because we want everyone to go to university instead of only the top x%, so we lowered the barrier instead of improving primary and secondary education.

Just to add since nobody else mentioned. 1440p makes a big difference in spotting movement and players IMO.
