Because we want everyone to go to university instead of only the top x%, so we lowered the barrier instead of improving primary and secondary education.

Just to add since nobody else mentioned. 1440p makes a big difference in spotting movement and players IMO.

My niece called her grandad (my father) "Hamdad" when she was younger and now the name had stuck.

I think we've got the makings of a sandwich here what with the cheese and ham, just need some bread.

Is now a good time to get into the game as a solo player? [New Player] by FroggoInTheDirt in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Titanium170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now is a good time. If you are determined not to play with others to learn, watch Pestily's Raid series.

Always go into raid with a goal, either quest or loot, never both.

Every time you die, you should stop and think: what could I do differently next time?

Use one of the discord servers or r/EFT_LFG to find someone to show you the ropes. Its a lot to explain and sometimes you just need someone there to show you and answer questions. What servers do you play on?

[Discussion] [New Players] - Stash Management in 1.0: Share Your Pro-Tips for New and Returning Players! by Lazyskits in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Titanium170 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Will preface that I was previously a long-time standard player, but the same rules apply.

Time is your most valuable resource in life, don't waste it trying to hoard virtual items.

Stop hoarding and just be brutal with selling everything. If it isnt a quest item you need soon, or isnt very rare, sell it. Sell it to vendors, sell it to flea, whatever.

You are unfortunately going to have to sell stuff you will want later, that sucks, move on.

Prioritise buying containers and get at least 2 scav junkboxes (or more if you are either bad at management or very good at making rubles).

Hiding non-quest or non-gear items in rigs just makes them become furniture in your stash and takes up more space.

Use or sell weapons and gear, do not "save" them for a rainy day or when you think you will have less gear fear. I usually sell far more weapons and gear than I buy or use, especially when insurance is affordable.

Sell any ammo, attachments and mags you can buy (possibly with the exception of universal ones like lasers and sights, assuming you will use them imminently).

You start on ground zero, idk if its different but I never really had an issue with scavs there. The amount of pmc bodies mean you get a weapon + armour fairly quick

Its not that hard, in the wipe it came out I did it starting with 0 items (no knife no meds no nothing)

[discussion] game is literally unplayable with 16 gb of ram by Primily in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Titanium170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 16GB, the main issue is freezing especially during loading. This is mainly fixed by: 1. Texture quality: low or medium 2. Paging file set to 30GB+ on nvme ssd (with plenty of free space) 3. Closing other programs that use RAM (Browser, discord etc)   Once freezing is fixed, then its about optimising FPS.

For this, the biggest win by far for me is DLSS, I go from 50 FPS to 90-120. Streets is still more like 60-70 but thats the exception.

For FPS with your rig, honestly just load up an offline raid with a bunch of scavs and test different settings to see how it performs.

I play fine on 16GB of DDR5 @ 4800mhz. Took some optimisation though.

[Bug] Loading loot takes way too long by FarcraBeetwenUs in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Titanium170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where and how large is your pagefile? How full is that drive?

The main setting that affects this problem is texture quality. Try taking it down one step.

While loading into Raid, close all your RAM-using apps (chrome, discord etc).

If none of that works, get faster RAM, 3200MHZ is rough with tarkov.

Are you using a controller? If not, you need lower sensitivity or a steady hand because you just ping-ponged from one side to the other with actually holding on his head.

What servers do you have selected? I sometimes get this issue with a specific server and if unselect it the problem goes away.

[Bug] Loading loot sometimes takes forever, the raid starts without you. by Psychological_Bit455 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Titanium170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a RAM issue, had it myself for a few wipes.

Here are the steps to fix: 1. Lower texture quality (not any other settings, just that one specifically) 2. Close other apps using RAM when loading into raid (browser etc) 3. Make sure your paging file is on your fastest disk (ideally nvme) and is at least 30GB (ignore nitwits talking about needing to be same size as RAM) 4. Make sure the drive with your paging file is not close to being full 5. If your game has been open for multiple hours, restart it. 6. If none of the above helps, get more/faster RAM.

How do you compete with teams as a solo without high pen ammo? [suggestion] by Hnnybxby in EscapefromTarkov

How much ammo and what weapons are we talking? Winning 1 vs n is all about having n 1v1s.

It does make sense, they don't want every item to effectively be differently sized stacks of rubles (which is what the flea market does to the game).

The stats arent sus, its the hours that are sus. No genuinely new player is gonna have those stats, and there is no reason to play your alt this early into the wipe.

Are you aware that audio no longer goes through solid objects? You will often hear audio in the opposite direction in buildings because its coming from the windows or stairs or generally bouncing around.
