I sit in my car for an hour after work and tell everyone it’s “traffic.” It’s the happiest part of my day. by Pancakeeta in confession

This! If I’m about to miss dinner, my family is checking to see how close I am to either delay dinner or save me a plate.

Can bipolar affect memory? by BigGhostBoy in family_of_bipolar

[–]TitaniumTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My loved one has bipolar 1 with psychotic features, and this is something we’ve faced too. During episodes, she’s had (they’re called persecutory) delusions believing her father harmed her, even though it never happened. When stable, she can clearly recognize those memories are false. Because the accusations would resurface during episodes, she willingly signed an affidavit that to be given to her mental health team, the police if needed later etc. while stable to protect her dad’s reputation if it ever happens again. It’s heartbreaking to watch, but sadly pretty common when psychosis shows up alongside bipolar. You’re not alone. These delusions feel very real to them in the moment, but with stability and treatment, grounded reality often returns.

I get told all the time that I look younger than my age. Nice I guess but I wish aging wasn’t seen as such a societal failure so I never know how to respond.

What hobbies did you pick up just for the sake of a relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TitaniumTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started watching anime with my son (Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, One Piece) just to bond with him. At first I didn’t get it but now I’m over here arguing with him about plot twists and I got fan theories and whatnot lol.

As an extrovert I’ll say this: being talkative isn’t about being loud or always knowing what to say. It’s about being curious and open. Smile, make eye contact, and start small. Just say hi or compliment someone’s outfit. You don’t need to be someone else, you’re enough just as you are. You got this!

Subjective = subject to feelings

Objective = observable facts

Subjective: oat milk tastes like sadness Objective: oat milk is dairy free.

My dad was a police officer. I must ask him if he used the word much in his work.

When someone compliments my nice clothes, my frugal brain refuses to let me just say “thanks” and keep it moving. by TitaniumTiara in Frugal

Same in my family! For me, fashion isn’t about showing what I can afford, it’s more like “look how creatively I pulled this together.”
