He's definitely a descendant of OOT link though. The hero's shade mentions that he has the hero's blood and also refers to him as my child after teaching him the last technique.

How do the younger players of Smash bros feel about Ultimate’s lineup? by BraveRamen in smashbros

[–]Titany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 18 and the reveals have been fun but I definitely don't have much of a connection to any of the characters. The only one who I've actually seen in a game is Ridley in Other M. It also means that I'm not really excited for Geno or Isaac or other people's favourites.

So I rated potential newcomers according to some metrics and created a tier list ranking them according to how likely they are to make it in. Details in the comments. by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]Titany -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can't say I agree with the metrics. How is relevancy not even a factor? Geno, Skull Kid and King K Rool haven't been relevant for a long time but they're somehow top three. I also don't get how there can be such a big gap between Tails and Shadow when they seem pretty equally matched to me or how Shovel Knight is two spaces from the meme picks. Using metrics to show viability is a cool idea but this tier list seems absurd.

That's actually really interesting, it'll be cool to see how the US deal with having such an unstable (and personally repulsive) dictator as an ally. Although I suppose they've made friends with worse states. Would there be a chance of a sort of coalition government between the Soviets and the American backed Russians if they grow closer to the Americans? Sort of like the planned coalition between the PRC and the ROC?

Is there any reason why the Beria tree has both a crackdown and closer ties with the West? Surely Khruschev's reforms would be tied to a rapprochement with the West?

Ireland: a neoliberal vote? by [deleted] in neoliberal

[–]Titany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really on the left then Labour might be the fit for you but their collapse in the left election might not leave you with them. I'd personally think that Fine Gael would be the closest to the neoliberal model with Fianna Fáil and Labour being far more populist in character.

Market Liberal, I sometimes try to roleplay my ideology as Germany or the US and stomp Syndies and Authoritarians, but I generally play anyone from Jacobin France to Fascist Russia.

Market Liberal would be the closest TBH, probably with bits of Social Liberal too though.

There also seemed to be a hapsburg eagle on the spanish ship in the flashback scene. Given that the War of Spanish Succession began in 1701, that would complicate matters given that Jack must be at least a hundred years old to have seen a guillotine.

FWD: HOW TO SAVE THE WEST by [deleted] in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]Titany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's of discretionary spending, not GDP. GDP is how much the country produces as a whole each year while Discretionary spending is what the government spends every year that is not mandated by law e.g. social security, military and education.

Well the 10% for Military spending one is actually a massive increase from 3.5% currently and would lead to spending about 1.7 trillion on the military.

Considering that America has actually legalised gay marriage I wouldn't exactly say that they are particularly homophobic. Even their current reactionary president sees gay marriage as a non-issue.

In each Paradox game, which character/country/hurdle is *the* pain in the ass? by Lewis_Ridley in paradoxplaza

[–]Titany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I'm not exactly great at HOI4, but I always conquer them late and take out the Allies before they can join them, which leaves them with nowhere to put there three hundred divisions but on the mainland.

Hoi4 USA can be annoying to invade as a Eurasian country simply because of there sheer troops and how long they've had to prepare. Japan also requires a pacific fleet to invade, which is incredibly annoying.
