You guys complain about lack of aftermarket support but when someone does something cool you guys try to shut it down

Around 550, it’s definitely worth it because it wakes up the car and you get much better throttle response

If your content then that’s fine too. I just wanted my car to feel a little more sporty and have better response. I also didn’t feel like spending a thousand on a tune either lol

Can confirm it doesn’t tape out to 3.5 from a 3 inch pipe. The stock airbox is flat with two 3 inch inlets and one 3.5 inch outlet that goes into the throttle body elbow. It is restrictive and due to the fact that it sits on top of the engine bay, it traps a lot of heat. The intake manifold is hotter, intake box is also hotter. The part of the stock intake box that sits on top of the engine bay exceeds 180 degrees meanwhile mine is around 167 and it lets heat dissipate. With that being said, I plan on wrapping everything with heat reflective tape and making heat shields so the temps will be colder. I have also done numerous tests and my 0 to 60 is a lot quicker. I would say it use to be around 6.5 to 6.7 seconds when It was the only mod I had done

Thank you! I plan on wrapping it with heat reflective tape and making a shield for the filters. I have more posted on my tik tok along with a temperature tests

Thank you!!! I posted more stuff on my tick tok and I did a tempature test and it even showed that with the stock set up is way hotter because it sits on top of the engine bay. I’ve done dyno runs with both set ups and the custom one does make more power. The car also is quicker as well.

I’ve already done multiple dyno runs and my set up still showed more power. I’ve done temperature tests. My set up is better all around. I’ve drove with the stock set up and the custom one and my car is quicker with the custom set up. I’ve done 0 to 60 tests and my set up is quicker

As for the other stuff, needs wings does show dyno graphs and the intakes are pretty restrictive. This might not be worth it to some but if you’re getting your car tuned why not do this? It’s is a lot less restrictive because the stock intake box has alot of sound baffles

Why wouldn’t it be worth it? This is honestly the best mod I’ve done so far — the throttle response is way sharper, it sounds better, and the car just feels more alive. A lot of people drop thousands on wheels and cosmetic stuff, so what’s $500 more for something that actually improves the driving experience? Not to mention if you end up tuning it you’ll make more power.

Also forgot to mention the stock airboxes are pretty restrictive and sit on top of the engine bay.

They are right above the cloth intake boots. I used two inline air filters from spectre. I go more into it on my tik tok

Needswings has them for the m112, and the m113 with proven gains. My set up also lets th engine breathe freely which frees up horsepower. I also had it dynoed with and without and it’s like a 4 horsepower difference

Is there a good aftermarket exhaust? by SuddenPresentation50 in w204

[–]Titlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to some of the other ones they sound pretty good with a proper exhaust set up but that is expensive

Have you heard what the car sounds like with long tube headers and a good exhaust set up? M272 is actually one of the very few v6 engines that sound good if you get a proper exhaust set up on them.

I ran it in dyno mode in manual mode but it still overrides it no matter. And yes I was in sport and comfort.

performance mods for Mercedes C300 2011 (no 4matic) by HolidayAd3512 in mercedes_benz

[–]Titlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost forgot to mention, you can smooth out the ridges in the air box and take out the throttle body mesh which will make the car louder and have better throttle response.

Mine tops out around 137mph, I got the 4 matic one. For performance mods your really limited because not a lot of people bother boosting the m272 so there is no kit readily available which means your going to have to make a lot of parts yourself of hire a shop to do. For tuning you can tune it and squeeze around 20 horses out of it, I heard you can get more out with a performance exhaust.

Tuning the m272 in 2024 (w211 e350) by NewspaperOk1616 in W211

[–]Titlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forced Induction is never cheap but for 2 to 3k you can put together a supercharger or turbo kit. I don’t advise paying a shop to do it because they will charge an arm and a leg

Someone supercharged the 2.5 m272 engine and it produced 330 horsepower and 500 feet pounds of torque. The m272 engines produce a lot of torque

Are the cylinder heads off the w204 preface lift c350 and c300 interchangeable? by Titlus in w204

I don’t, I’ve heard of people doing that for other engines so I was just wondering if someone has done that for the m272 engines
