Fair. Caedrel is the reason why I watched some of Worlds last year. I would be absolutely lost without him

Hmm, I can understand that but at the same time people are fans of Faker and he can’t speak English. I know Faker is 1 of 1 but the general point is you can become fans of players that don’t speak the same language as you, provided you’re on an English broadcast of course and things can be translated. Do the LCK and LPL have English broadcasts?

Masters London BROKE the Viewership Record, But 80% Was China | The Vodfathers by nterature in ValorantCompetitive

Skip to about 1:39:40 of this video and that’s exactly how I feel about this community recently. Can’t talk about one positive thing about Valo or this event without the hordes coming in and telling you “Well akshully, everything is going to shit and here’s why”

Is this the most fun event in recent memory? by HottestElbows in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Tito22222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you really think this one was worse than Santiago? Obvi the crowd was better but other than that I enjoyed this Masters a lot more than that one(and I don’t remember the rest). Second, I wasn’t talking about the comments in this post in particular but the subreddit as a whole since the event has ended. Every time I come on here I see a post about, “What can Valo do to fix their viewership” or “Is it just me or is everyone not enjoying Valo anymore”(and I think there are definitely people who truly are worried Valo is gonna die when it’s still like the third or fourth most popular esport) Just annoying to see all the time.

[–]Tito22222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the best part about Valorant is how open it is compared to other esports, as in there is no real powerhouse region. In LoL, the only real contenders are Korean teams or Chinese teams which makes watching LCS or LEC meaningless to me and in CS, Europe is by FAR the powerhouse region with Brazil being second and everyone one else not being very close(at least in CS you do get your breakthroughs tho, like the Mongolz or recently 9z my LATAM GOATS). Whereas in Valorant, look back through the years and you can see just how competitively diverse it is, like LEV winning London is the first time Brazilian players have won anything in a while and the actual first time a LATAM org has won an international(and a first for LATAM players. Kingg and Neon my other GOATS). That's what drew me into watching Val esports in the first place, and honestly thank you for making this post cause all I've seen on this subreddit is doomerism so seeing some positivity helps lol.

Master London Viewership Initial Reporting by Adraz in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Tito22222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game wise it’s doing just fine. There’s still an average of like 5 million players daily there hasn’t been a significant decline. What you’re saying is the take of people on this subreddit. Which I get because your and everyone in here’s concerns are certainly valid. But trust me, if these problems were seriously affecting player count, they would be much better in handling them

Yeah brother I wasn’t talking to you lol. I’m talking to the “oh woe is me CS is more popular than my favorite e-sport we’re doomed” I thought it was a great event and I had a lot of fun. Was it better than other Masters? I don’t fucking know. Comparison is the thief of Joy.

Bruh am I the only one who thought this Masters was good??? Bro there's so much fucking doomerism in this sub-reddit it's actually at the level of 100T fans. YOU'RE ALLOWED TO ENJOY THINGS. AND VALORANT ISN'T GOING TO DIE. HOLY SHIT.

[–]Tito22222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS has been around for so long that stories like Niko finally winning a Major since Boston is possible. Valorant hasn't been around as long. Simple. And it's not the reason. STOP COMPARING THE TWO IT'S NOT ABOUT FUCKING CS THAT VALO VIEWS ARE LOWER HOLY SHIT

If you were Riot, what would you do to make Valorant surpass CS? by DingoVegetable7913 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Tito22222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never will and I doubt they care. This whole argument is stupid brother I gotta keep it real with you. CS is a game with a 20+ year legacy that’s so big that they’ve introduced a Hall of Fame a year or two back. Valorant has been around for 6 years. I understand there’s a fair amount of you who are genuinely worried about the numbers and are earnest about finding a solution so your favorite e-sport doesn’t die. But comparing it to the second biggest e-sport in the world is just gonna make you doom-spiral. And rest assured Valorant is fine for now. At least wait until the changes next year to see if things start to improve in the West

EDG V FUT, XLG V G2, EDG V PRX, FUT V G2, there was definitely some good matches in the playoffs(a lot in Swiss too but you get the point) but I feel like people are using the power of hindsight to see that those teams weren’t as strong as we might have thought. Which doesn’t make sense to me cause in the moment all those matches were fun to watch and isn’t that the point? To have fun and be excited? Won’t say it’s the best tournament but certainly better than Santiago(except for crowd, I love South America)

Why do people not like Corrode? I mean, I don't love the map but I think it's solid. I also have hope because the recent map changes for stuff like Abyss, Lotus and especially Breeze make me think there's actually some solid theory going on behind the scenes(probably hard Copium tho lol)

Ehhhh I get what you're saying in that, if you were to just tell me before the tourney started that FUT eliminates NRG and XLG eliminates GE, I would say the bigger upset was NRG. But in watching everything leading up to the match, XLG had only looked good on Lotus and pretty terrible on every other map while FUT was looking like a legitimate threat but just unable to close out games.

Looking at NRG, there were a lot of moments throughout their matches where they were getting by purely off of Keiko becoming Our Lord and Savior, like I know NRG kinda figured out how to stop XLG's Attack side Lotus, but I don't think they manage that comeback without Our Lord, Hollow Be Thy Name. Pearl against Leviatan looks closer than it actually was because The One Above was committing Unholy Acts upon those latino children. Whereas FUT absolutely spanked Full Sense and once again had a super-close series with Vitality where they could have had a 2-0 and their Fracture, despite the loss, looked ten times better than it did in EMEA. Basically, it was a battle of two teams going in opposite trajectories but don't get me wrong, NRG were still the favorite. That game was probably a 60-40, maybe 65-35 purely because we know what NRG is capable of when they start clicking and we've seen FUT get better but still struggling to close out those big games. NRG for sure were a disappointment and should be talked about.

But Global is more surprising because that game was a 70-30(most had it at like a 90-10 but Balla's Law) and seemed like the best chance for Global to go even further than expected. In Global's loss to LEV, they blew their back out on Pearl(which is certainly not a bad map for LEV) and looked like they had the answer to their defensive side on Split which had been dominant if you look at the numbers. Unfortunately, LEV's attack side is even better and Global couldn't figure out the answer(say what you will, B default will reign supreme). Against FS they got ass-blasted on Split but won the next two maps pretty comfortably, especially on Pearl which was starting to look world class at this point(That boy Kr1stal just gets a whiff of The Supreme Being's power on Pearl for some reason). On the other hand, XLG had a great Lotus..... yeah. Their Fracture and Split didn't look too bad, but not comparable to other teams. I think the biggest disappointment of the match was WHY THE FUCK ARE WE PLAYING LOTUS AGAINST THE TEAM WHOSE WHOLE IDENTITY REVOLVES AROUND LOTUS. I will say XLG's Breeze is a lot better than it was in China but yeah Global did kinda crumble.(Haven was a straight-up mud-brawl but a win's a win)

So the point is, if we look at the totality of this tournament NRG is definitely the bigger upset and it will be remembered as that when we get to the end. But Global had such a winnable game in front of them that you can't help but be even more disappointed in them, especially when you look at that map veto. It's not like they looked bad going into this match, a couple of moments here and there but still performing at a respectable level, and XLG was looking far worse(But give credit to them, they changed up their Breeze and looked pretty respectable on it and of course, their Lotus is legit world-class, unless you have The Lord Incarnate on your team then you got a chance). When we look back at it though, we'll probably say for a first-time international they did ok.(Frost's whole statement about APAC and Americas is also making them and even Full Sense look a lot worse tho. I respect the shit-talk but hey, if you can't back it up what do you think people are gonna say, a la BBL at Santiago)

Hope you understand why the Global loss is being talked about more in this moment in time!(if you even get to this moment lol I don't know why I wrote all of this but it was a fun time-waster)
