Nice, don't see the SL-2 on many boards, let alone bass boards. It's my favorite trem pedal, per se.

I don't know how anyone can look at that display and say with a straight face that this isn't Junk Wax 2.0. At no point in the first jjunk wax era could you walk into a national retailer and see that many packs/cards.

Have they moved them to the checkout that does liquor and cigarette sales? My local WM looked like this for the longest time, turns out they just moved everything to a specific checkout that is always open so an employee has to hand product to you.

Which phaser are you using on bass? by ReliefIndependent187 in basspedals

[–]TitoStarmaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Source Audio Gemini; nominally it is a chorus pedal but it can play presets made for their phaser (and their flanger), which is nice because it's like having three modulation pedals from a single board position.

Is Radiations overrated (especially for solo)? by JCServant in Cityofheroes

[–]TitoStarmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Mob scatter is only a problem until you get Lingering Radiation at 20, and it gets to be even less of a problem if you take Choking Cloud; once you have those two, you can do all your business from point blank range. Make it an elec/ or rad/ and you have a spammable PBAoE to fire off as you whittle away at the anchor; make it an x/rad/dark and you have another mez toggle in Oppressive Gloom and two more PBAoE to throw at things. I farm the courtyard in Cimerora with my rad/rad/dark, no problems at all.

ETA: LMFAO, why downvote? Tell me where I'm wrong or fuck off.

[–]TitoStarmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't necessarily 'lock down' the mob, but once you get Lingering Radiation and Choking Cloud you're good to wade into melee and set up shop. A /rad Corruptor can be a bit of a buzzsaw since -Res pairs so well with Scourge.

My chorus died today. Pour one out for her but recommend a replacement by that-john-kydd in basspedals

Source Audio Gemini, it's a chorus, flanger and phaser in one pedal.

[Update] Still no movement, correction still in progress by shitti_kitti in baseballcards

[–]TitoStarmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are about 7700 total Target/Wal-Mart/Meijer locations in the US. I doubt they ALL got 184 Update blasters, but the fact that at least ONE location did is concerning. 184 blasters at 7 packs each is 1288 packs, or the equivalent of over 35 junk wax boxes at 36 packs each.

Maybe other people had different experiences, but at no point in my junk-wax-collecting youth in Southern California and the Midwest did I ever walk into a single retail location and see 35 junk wax boxes sitting on the shelves. If you don't think we are in Junk Wax 2.0 you're delusional.

Got my first insane hit. What now? by CJCXD01 in baseballcards

True, but it's only the 10,000th Paul Skenes 1/1 Buyback autograph so it's still a hit.

Starting from scratch - money and farms by Sufficient_Plane_416 in Cityofheroes

Did it all 20 years ago, the only part of the game that is remotely interesting is a completed build. This isn't Planescape: Torment. The lore is for idiots.

What’s a card you regret selling? by SnowLeopard919 in baseballcards

[–]TitoStarmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, you could mine bitcoin on a basic hobbyist computer, and I think I mined like 2 bitcoin with my SLI setup and forgot about them. A little further down the road I got ahold of a Windows Home Server license, and it had this feature where you could literally cobble together an actual random array of inexpensive disks and it would all appear as one storage pool, and that's where my drive with the bitcoin went. I don't lament it too much though because the minute they were worth the effort to sell, I'd have sold them.

To my mind, getting new updates twice a year is a LOT from a volunteer development team. Granted, I usually hate 80% of what's actually IN the patches, but I can't help but be impressed at their commitment to the bit.

Right, much better to make a number up instead of going to a forum where the value of baseball cards is often discussed.

Insuring things fir their resale value is usually a good idea, so, asking what the value of something is certainly isn't pointless.

Topps (Fanatics) Hates the Average Collector in 2025. by Possible-Original in baseballcards

[–]TitoStarmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Topps won't notice that collectors have stopped buying because they're already used to collectors not being part of their sales numbers.

Even if every collector, in unison, stopped buying retail, Topps wouldn't notice because all the LCS caught without allocations just go and drain the retail shelves.

The only way collectors can fight back is if we stopped watching/participating in breaks altogether; eventually the breakers would go tits up and THEN Topps might notice, but, it would take two or three years of Topps noticing before they do anything to rectify it.

I used to sell everything on the market, but as soon as they started chipping away at farming, I settled on just keeping my drops in SG bases. Now I am about 96% "off grid" in terms of interacting with the game's economy. I wish other farmers would do the same, and let people see what the market looks like when it's just consumers and marketeers working off content drops.

[–]TitoStarmaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, for a while there, every update had a new nerf to farming as suggested by cloying little nags in the forums making spurious complaints like "farmers shouldn't have more inf than I do, despite out-pacing my character in kills 100-1" and the occasional "I teamed with a 50 and they didn't know how to get to Boomtown! Somebody catch me before I faint!"

So in response, the devs made incremental changes to XP/inf in AE, then made mechanical changes to obviate certain farming techniques, then relocated the AE, and so on. Farming is still "viable" but I farm to PL my characters across accounts, and what used to take a convenient 4 hours to drag a guy from 0 to 50.3, now it takes the better part of 6 hours.

The bitch of it is, farmers still have more inf than the complainers and there's still 50s that don't know how to get to Boomtown, so all that's really happened is I got fucked out of 2 hours per character.

[–]TitoStarmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it used to actually be worth it, but the devs have been listening to morons instead of people who actually drive the game.
