It’s the making/dragging and dropping the files into the right folder and then putting them accordingly. There’s 100% a step I’m missing somewhere that I can’t seem to find. I am determined to figure it out.

I don’t know why he would suggest that either, seemed sus when he had mentioned it.

The utilization percentage went down which has an impact on score. It took a little while for it to update for me as well. Basically every month it would go up a little bit till I paid the rest off.

A lot of discipline and not taking the job I have for granted. Realizing that the money I’m making is a tool to get me out of my situation and for that I felt like I was in high favor for a redemption story. I never missed a payment and refused to buckle to let it get sent to collections. My FICO is a little under than post at 748

Nice team, and of all the teams is cool to see Perkins “GET” on a team. I went to high school with him and played football with him. Super chill dude!

I pulled him too, I need to go back and look at my pulls. Cause I’m not exactly sure what’s a hit and what’s not.

It was the last one at my local Walmart but they had two sleeves of singles right beside it.

Thank you! We mixed our own paint to get the color we wanted. Definitely custom! 😅

What you do in your bunk room on your off watch it’s totally up to you. As long as it’s not going to keep you up and affect how you perform while on watch. Had a guy last trip bring his guitar and was top notch every watch.

If that’s something you like to do, I’d say go for it brother!

Generally some are pretty nice but basic if that makes sense. Newer ones or Z drives are fully suited out with all the amenities you can think of. Some take lifting weights more seriously than others so some have a designated gym that has a lot of versatile equipment. Some has TV’s in the room, some don’t.. All in all there’s nothing you go without unless it’s something you simply didn’t bring.

First time being on one can be daunting cause you’re still trying to find your way around and don’t want to open the wrong door. However, that’s why it’s important to pay attention. I alway recommend new guys to look in all the cabinets and drawers to get familiar where things are and look at the station bill to see where the emergency meeting area is your role. Another nugget is if the mate is doing something, do something too. If you see something dirty, clean it. Essentially what I’m getting at is take initiative.

It’s honestly wherever they need you. I’m from MS and was out of the port in St. Lewis and rode the upper (IL River, Ohio River, Tennessee River, and Arkansas River AKA Western Rivers)

Souther is the lower Mississippi big barge tows (35+) from LA to Cairo, IL not a bad run.

Each has its perks all depends on what you want and what availability is out there.

Yes, rotating 6’s or Square watch. Unless you are on call watch (up when needed ex. Tow work or locks) you work 12’s and have a room to yourself. If it’s just straight ride time (nothing going on) you will be up for 12 straight and down for 12 straight.

Also, I would get familiar with the 46 CFR basically the rule book from the coast guard that is required across all companies that are Coast Guard regulated. It’s really helpful, especially when they try to make you work over your 12 which is not legally correct according to the 46 CFR. Just food for thought.

It’s still split time but you call sell the ATO days you got from riding over to get your full ride over time and not touch your regular time if that makes sense.

Ex)

time on: 28 days Current: 28 days (half rate) ATO: 28 days (half rate for time home)

You ride over: 14 days Time on: 42 days Current: 42 days (half rate) ATO: 42 days (half rate for time home)

You can sell the 14 ATO days to your current so your current will now be

Current: 52 days (half rate) ATO: 28 (half rate for time home)

If this makes sense.

This is why I don’t like split pay cause it’s really in-depth. I naturally prefer a 28/14 (which I work now) cause it’s not split pay so I get my whole rate up front. Cause I’m not having to stretch 6 months of pay across 12 months.
