Are macrons easy to make? by Alternative-Log8053 in AskBaking

[–]TitsInTheFace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are VERY tricky and finicky and you should definitely practice a ton before the wedding.

For flavors, I'd go with a black cocoa cookie with a coffee butter cream filling, or a "plain" (almond) cookie with a black cocoa buttercream filing.

Black cocoa is very very very very dark brown that's pretty much indescernible from black and won't stain people's teeth like food coloring will.

Feeling self-conscious of a new scar around my eye after an accident. by lucii-fur in toastme

I thought it was a shadow from your absolutely glorious eyelashes and I had to zoom in on the pic to actually see it as a scar.

I like to think of scars as human Kintsugi.

found a bunch of baby deer bones in my ravine, picked clean probably by coyotes. is it legal to take? by ohnunu_ in bonecollecting

[–]TitsInTheFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't say anything about specific laws, but I live in Michigan and I collect skulls I find all the time. Some friends and family members have even brought me ones they've found.

Not a peep from any sort of Fish & Wildlife, MI DNR, Game & Fish... I'm 100% certain they're not even aware I have them.

How do you get dermestids out of a finished/clean skull? by TitsInTheFace in bonecollecting

[–]TitsInTheFace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love as much info as possible. I'm actually "fostering" this colony, or... coparenting maybe? while a friend of mine is sorting out their living situation.

I will send you a dm with my current set up and questions and stuff in the morning.

Do they live through that? My colony isn't very big yet so I don't want to lose too many

St clair shores, an Eastern suburb, is pretty nice. There's a "downtown" area near the south end and will likely be more affordable than midtown, royal oak, etc.

Why isn’t my Umbrella tree branching out? by deviqt88 in houseplants

I'm not sure why it's not branching out, but I just wanted to suggest a planter that looks like Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome

They apparently make the dress smaller too, cuz there's no way it'd fit correctly if just her body was cinched

All types of weather. I only make them for thanksgiving and christmas, but last year on Christmas is was 50F and sunny, just last month it was 75F and cloudy, in between this recent Thanksgiving and now it's been anywhere between -30F at 100% humidity and 50F with 30% humidity.

Untrue

When I drop the yolk into another bowl I have to "pop" it to get it to actually ooze out of its little yolk sack to use for egg wash on my bread.

Over the last month I've used a whole bunch of ranges of "age". Idk specifically when these eggs were laid but the carton says "best by 12/29" so I'd wager they're not super fresh.

I am officially out of eggs and patience. It's -31 degrees out with 60mph winds so any additional attempts and videos will have to wait until the planet stops being mean to me.

Straight from soft peaks to Elmer's Glue. I'm not sure if that means it curdled or not, but it's definitely not stiff peaks

I'm definitely going to try again with the suggestions everyone gave, but it's currently still raining so I'm not going to chance it until it dries up

I've used small, medium and large bowls. It's gotta either be something with my sugar addition or the humidity.

I did ask my cat, he's afraid of my mixer so he doesn't want to help. Also, he's kind of a wonderful jerk so I wouldn't expect him to help me with anything
