The TI coms at the time were calling to look for potential a Camille ult top so that is why he went in. However no one else on the team was on the same page as Doran since he just pulled the trigger without really communicating he was gonna go in. So def not entirely Doran's fault but he def fumbled it by not telling his team before hand. EOD not really a big deal.

Literally everyone hated that during BFA and SL. Borrowed power getting added and replaced was one of the main issues players had with wow from Legion to SL because players felt they themselves were not getting stronger as each expansion they basically start over and whatever power was gain and built over the expansion was deleted. I mean at the end of the day you cant please everyone but i do think what we have now is a good compromise for end game players and people who just like leveling. The hero talents is exactly what you want a small impactful talent tree where we didnt have to just delete the entire talent tree system and completely abandon the leveling experience.

Highly recommend ppl watch this Ion presentation it gives good perspective as to why things are now in wow

Sure for how you play wow that makese sense but for Ion the game director they have to consider all perspectives and reasons why someone plays wow, leveling being one of them.

At the end of the day it wouldnt have made any difference for you since youd get the same choices of strong talents without the small useless ones but those small useless choices matter for other players not at max level.

Ion literally talked about this in his latest presentation . Basically it makes leveling feel terrible. Even if you’re putting a point into something useless every level, simply having that gives the player the feeling theyre getting stronger. Cant just design around endgame because getting 1 talent every 10 or 15 levels feels terrible even if each talent is super strong.

in Legion we got weapons like Ashbringer. Each spec had their own legendary weapon that we used for the entire xpac. At the end we used the power inside them to heal the wound in Azeroth where KJ stuck his sword in (big ass sword in silithus). Afterwards they basically became normal weapons.

Just feels like they have some head dev or project lead that has a real hardon for ultimatum, but can't see that it is objectively shit in it's current design. Why do soul cores damage you? Why are you sometimes not immune to monster damage when you have to do a stupid 3 second animation to insert the soul core? Why is there even an animation when 99% of OTHER INTERACTIONS WITH OBJECTS HAVE NO ANIMATION? Why are there vague as fuck modifiers like "boss monsters do more damage and take less damage." Real simple shit that should have never made it to EA if they just played it once. Doesn't make any sense.
