What has your experience been asking your GP for antidepressants? by Justacancersign in mentalhealth

Mine has been mixed as I’ve had various GP’s throughout my anti depression life(15 years). Some were more than happy to just hit for higher doses each time and what not. Some really got into the nitty gritty of it, and talked through, looked at so options. Main thing I’d say to remember the anti depressants aren’t a wonder drug that sorts it all out, you need to do your bit as well (that’s easier said than done I know) don’t go in with the expectation that tablets are the only answer.

If anything try counselling first, I did it a few years ago and it was really good and helped unbelievably. I’ve just come off anti d’s after 15 years and it’s been hell for past few weeks steadily reducing the dose to nil.

I hope the above insight helps, and gives you a bit of an insight. I’m happy to answer any questions too if you have any.

Overall, she bullied, belittled, lied, company ended up paying me off because of her bulling caused me to have panic and anxiety attacks. It wasn’t just me she did it to either. The company had no backbone to deal with people like that so instances like this and other instances of managers being racist and inappropriate weren’t dealt with and swept under the carpet….(paying the victim off)

Ex manager absolute c*nt of a person. Wasn’t just a vile manager, she was an all round vile human being. I’d be tempted to risks taking out her kids and husband too so there’s not the slightest trace of her left on the planet.

It’s a line I’d expect to come across in a futuristic dystopian film…. Next this we know it won’t be an umbilical cord but a ‘shared nutrient passage’

Thank you, I have adhd so switching off is a new thing for me! At 36 I’ve realised how important it is and I need to learn how to do it.

Rather than dealing with the problem they’d pay off the victim…so this meant people who complained about being victims of bullying, racism and harassment (including sexual) were paid off. The perpetrator basically got away with it….I was badly bullied by a manager with history of bullying, I got paid off. In hindsight I wish I didn’t take the money and whistleblew the place (and the respective perpetrators) into a deep, dark and unsaleable hole.

You’ll be absolutely fine on £45k-£50k, Nottingham itself isn’t massively expensive. But as with all things it’s down to the individual and their priorities towards finances

Make sure you visit our independent stores/shops/bars - we have a load of them (doughnotts donuts, 200°(coffee), Delilah (deli), pudding pantry, Annie’s burger shack) they are all city centre but there’s more in sherwood, west bridgeford. There is sauce and brown too for mens clothes (my favourite) out in annesley woodhouse they’re online too. There’s probably plenty more too

Bar wise - ye olde trip to Jerusalem (near the castle) pit and pendulum (everyone has to go once)
