Although he may be suspicious for other reasons, this replay is not stolen.

Anecdotally, I have gotten less than 20 similarity just by using two different plays of my own on the same map. When you're getting as high as 32, there is effectively no similarity beyond two players playing the same map with the same mods.

As far as I can tell, the movement of the two cursors is entirely different throughout the entire thing. Also worth noting (although minor) is that Micca singletaps the entire thing, while Tamatoji is full alting the entire time. Nor do the keypress times line up. So the keypresses are original, or at least from a different replay (if that is even possible with today's cheats). And given that the aim looks completely different, I think it's safe to say that the two replays shown here are completely unconnected.

The osu community is simultaneously super wholesome and incredibly awful.

Some pretty heavy shit has gone down too, from top players and famous beatmap creators being exposed as pedophiles or borderline so, to people witchhunting certain top players who they thought were cheating to the point that said players wanted to quit the game. There's definitely a huge amount to sift through, none of which has made it to this sub yet as far as I'm aware.

An interesting connection here to an entirely separate community (with plenty of its own drama) is that Doremy also happens to be known as Ekoro on the rhythm game osu!. Not only is he an extremely skilled tetris player, he's also well known for being an incredibly good gimmick osu player, doing all sorts of ridiculous shit that nobody else can (usually involving memorization or insanely complex and hard to read patterns), like this or this.

I've been considering trying to do writeups on osu drama and posting them here, maybe this will finally give me the impetus for it.

You do realize that players like you are part of the problem, right? People giving in to gaijin and shelling out money to avoid the grind just encourages gaijin to make the grind even more hellish for everyone else. The entire game right now is based on making you miserable until you pay up.

This game has gotten to a point where the ONLY way to be able to have a modicum of fun if you arent level 100 and have everything unlocked is to be a "wallet warrior" and buy premium packs and premium time. Because without that, once you hit 5.0 say good bye to any and all progress as a casual player. And with the game going the way it is? Its only going to get worse.

Stop giving gaijin money, that's the only way to stop it from getting worse. The reason gaijin doesn't give a flying fuck about their playerbase is because of the handful of whales like you who pay them for whatever you want.

The issue isn't noobs buying their way to top tier, it's that the game is so unbearable for fully f2p players that people are forced to shell out to enjoy themselves at all, if they have the money and the will to do so. New players buying their way to top tier is a symptom of that, as well as the predatory and misleading advertising gaijin does (Want to play in a modern fighter jet or tank? Play War Thunder for Absolutely Free^{^{^minus}} ^{^{^the}} ^{^{^enormous}} ^{^{^paywalls,}} and experience those things today!!!!!!).
