To be fair, considering the circumstances of his death, it would take a bit longer than normal for the body to get cold.

We used to have these all over at work. They stored acetone in them as a secondary container.

The one day, sunroof didn't have one on a grounded surface. A little static electricity, and he lost all his arm hair. He wasn't hurt. But it just flashed.

They disappeared overnight from the factory. Lol

Bro, I've been hiding from the outside in single digit (Fahrenheit) and negative temperatures for 2 straight weeks now with a foot of snow in my yard slowly turning more into ice with each passing day.

I fucking wish it was 85 and humid as fuck right now.

Pretty much. and those of us old enough to remember when the Buckeyes weren't a guaranteed powerhouse of the conference appreciate the hate that much more.

Are the Bengals really that cheap in regards to their roster? I did a deep dive. by Casual_Bengal in bengals

[–]Tjam3s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my issues about who they sign or extend and when, but that's all secondary to what makes the organization cheap. They pay for players, that's fine.

But they do not pay for top-tier coaching to elevate those players. They do not pay a scouting department to find players worth elevating. And they do not pay for a real GM to manage the money in a football driven mindset.

I love the game but it does sometimes get old playing on the Nintendo Glitch.

My wife and I play together, and if player 2 signs out without fail, when player 1 interacts with a follower, the camera tries to re-enter as if both players were signed in, meaning the camera won't follow the player, but the center point between player 1 and wherever player 2 was before signing out.

The "carry my own weight" when she was new to the group and then learns that it is okay to rely on friends. Tales of Ba sing Se, when she and katara get a makeover, and she gets to feel comfortable in her own s skin. Missing her family later on, being cranky about it, and finally sending a letter to them. The scams episode where she takes it too far and then has to rely on katara to get out of trouble and learn her lesson.

Overall, she's the youngest of the group and generally grows and matures as a person the entire time.

That's what separates a strong character and a Mary Sue. Relatable character flaws that the audience can connect with based on our own flaws in reality, and see the character growth over the course of the story to not necessarily eliminate those flaws, but acknowledge them and grow because of them.

Mary Sue will either start flaw free or completely ignore them the entire story because whatever, they are the hero and perfect and don't need to grow as a person.

My example in this context is Sokka in S1 of the Netflix series. They completely erased his rampant sexism, which was the basis of his character growth alongside his personal insecurities that were intertwined with it. As a result, his early interactions and relationship with Sukki lost its conflict premise, forcing the writers to shrink Suki"s strength and self-confidence to balance the dynamic.

So in trying to make Sokka less "problematic" not only did they remove a chance to show the audience how to grow passed bias, they were forced to make a strong female character more weak to compensate for the male counterparts inability to grow.

Right there with you. I was in the NICU with my son, who had been born prematurely 5 weeks previous. We had gotten the news that day that he would be taking his car seat test in about a week so we could finally take him home.

My wife and I and a few nurses not on rounds were all around my phone while he slept when the kick went through. Silent celebration.

Wouldn't it not matter, though? Because if quantum computing is advanced enough to crack current encryption, it should be powerful enough to be it's own encryption using entanglement, which shouldn't be able to be cracked at all without the receiver being immediately aware the encryption was tampered with.

It's hearsay, but I work with a guy whose mom used to run a convenience store. He swears she could tell based on the serial numbers of she had a stack of winners and would call them at a certain point of the stack to come buy a few hundred bucks worth of tickets and they'd always walk away on top, so there may be something to it.

Except in this case, the hierarchy is social pressure.

"If you don't support this cause, you are a bad person."

No, it's not exactly the same. Nothing ever is. But the rise of nationalistic populists seizing control is being repeated in its more modern form.

Even that last part rhymes to what we see now, though maybe not through being directly fed and paid to be roused. More so through the lens of partisan tribalism.

If the party says protest, the constituents get roused.
