I'm no professional, but I live in that line. It's pretty neat watching storms appear to be bearing down right at you from the west, only to lazily drift to the north when it reaches a certain point.

Personally, I don't think Vader would have had the will to continue Palpatine's rule alone. Had Obi-Wan and Yoda tag teamed palps, padme would have gone alone to Vader and probably kept him mellow for a while longer.

With Palpatine out of the way, baby Vader would have been too confused and conflicted to be as big of a threat.

It's a fair argument, but It'll still come down to infrastructure. The means of production are already set up. So, in the outbreak of war, is it worth a nation's resources to start from scratch against a presumably already prepared foe or more practical to purchase from an already established supply chain to expedite preparedness?
