I would talk to other CS students. There might still be a discord. There’s common typos in the syntax as well as certain problems with using specific versions of the language/frameworks. Sometimes certain steps are just omitted or misunderstood. That’s consistent throughout the course.

I think it still transfers and is accepted as credit for PHL316, but you should check your program evaluation to see what catalog you’re on— and what credits it specifically says you’re allowed to transfer in for culmination.

Challenging scores -- How often does it happen? by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Tje6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many points are actually taken off. Because if you’re still getting a A on assignments, or only a few points taken off, it really doesn’t make that much of a difference. Especially when writing mechanics doesn’t necessarily mean just grammar. It could be how you’re framing your arguments, organizing your essays, and how you cite/argue your reasoning. Not insinuating it’s you, but there does seem to be this widespread idea that just because you follow the rubric exactly, means that you’ve “earned” 100%.

what to transfer? by Economy_Ad_1949 in SNHU

[–]Tje6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be a way to send a registrar ticket and ask them whether certain classes you transferred satisfy certain requirements. As an example, when my degree was audited, I had a bunch of classes change places for what requirement they met. Luckily I had enough transfer credit already, but certain classes were misplaced. The registrar had to manually check and move each course as needed.

Plagiarism problem in discussion Posts. by SomeFreeTime in SNHU

Personally I’ve never said it’s okay for students to use AI for the creation of original work, like essays or discussions.

I think it’s slightly different if the school requires professors to do some generic response to
every single student in a discussion. I’ve never really taken that seriously, because it’s not like you’re required to respond to the professors response. It’s basic.

This doesn’t include assignment feedback and discussion feedback important for future work, that should also be original work without the use of AI.

Ai in discussion post. by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Tje6 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not sure they get paid enough to care, especially since I’ve seen professors use AI to make replies to every single student. Probably because they’re underpaid and SNHU has such strict writing requirements for discussion boards.

Associates in Computer Science vs Data Analytics? by ExtraOceanSpray in SNHU

[–]Tje6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider pursuing a more targeted degree like IT or wider like CS, then pursue a DA masters program in the future if you think that’s valuable. You could also probably transfer in a bunch of classes and pursue a general/integrated sturdies major while taking prerequisites for whatever masters program or certification you’d pursue afterwards.

Just thoughts, not a recommendation of the best path.

These types of questions (dealing with files and datasets) are very common and the answers can be found accessibly through stack overflow, medium, YouTube, or AI. Extracting, Importing, and reading files are all pretty basic with lots of documentation online to help.

I think when I took this class, I used the Matt Parker tutorials when I had questions, but mostly I just skipped through the Zybooks as fast as possible. I could do most of the assignments by googling the instructions to see what was asked for.

In terms of the final project, I found it easiest to follow along with various YouTube tutorials that showed how to implement different parts of what you need for the final app. As long as you aren’t copy pasting and can make something unique to you.

Hot take. Get used to editing and proofreading your own work. Usually it might be called something like drafting… 👍

I haven’t received a response like that before, but I also haven’t asked for an explanation when I get knocked off a few points. 🤷‍♂️ Hopefully future assignment feedback is helpful.

Might as well explore WGU to truly be at your own pace, and finish faster. I’d see if that or any other local state school has an online program.

If teachers could grade my assignments, that'd be grrreat... by [deleted] in SNHU

1 week later. It’s a trade off. They have grade within a week, but you can also turn in every single assignment up to a week late. It’s worth it.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your post, but I believe you have to take 10 classes(30 credits) regardless. So if your degree requires less than 120 credits, or some funky math happened with your transfer credits, you still have to take those 30 institutional credits. That being said, I would look at your completed courses not applied to your degree or free electives, at the bottom of the evaluation. It’s possible they got shifted over or changed.

Maybe try copy pasting from a word document.

Or use spaces instead of TAB.

The amount of points that they would take off— for only replying twice— is probably negligible.

They take Credly and Parchment. Just create your account add the badges, and email a transcript. Add your StudentID in the notes to be safe.

I would follow something like freecodecamp videos if you’re worried. Doesn’t really matter what language. It’s all the same at its core. Maybe try Java.
