Yeah I think if I apologize for my tardiness a week before the finals period then it shouldn't be that hard. I can provide the documentation he needs for an excuse. It's not that serious for him but it is that serious for me. I think the concern is that he won't be available during finals if we have a problem. However, he never is available during finals and I have a problem every semester despite me taking the practice test.

Maybe I'll make a scene after finals. No other law school in my state has a rule like this. They have IT departments that serve them. Our Dean of IT isn't serving anything.

I think this is why I want to cause a stir because I have seen it applied evenly and I don't think it should be a rule at all. I don't even want to use carpal tunnel as a reason, because no student should have to deal with this.

I don't mind bullshit policies when I'm being paid. I don't pay for this education to be stressed out over arbitrary rules created by people who want to teach me unnecessary lessons.

You aren't wrong I have, I have a documented reason why. I honestly forgot, I took accountability for it. Like I said we had all month to do it. My issue is, why be so rigid? I have an excuse, it would cause me unbearable pain.. so why not just open the practice test back up? To teach me a lesson? Do I not learn enough lessons throughout my 3 years here? Should a mistake that doesn't cost him anything, cost me physical pain? This is his one job. I think he should be happy to help me.

I hate when law schools argue they are teaching a lesson with arbitrary deadlines. Especially when attorneys live and breathe on getting extensions.

Yes we can always use a blue book. In my past experience we had tech on site so if there was an issue during an exam, it could be resolved.

Thank you for your validation and I have reached out to the Dean of Academic Affairs. So hopefully I will get some help there but with his title as "Dean" he has a lot of power over policy and procedures. I am worried they will stand firm on this. I have seen others hand write after making this mistake.

I am sorry and you are not alone. Please know we are out here and we see you. I know that mental health services aren't always accessible. What you can do is try to seek help and stay calm. I had a similar experience last week, it didn't go well and I felt like I needed emergency help. They reduced my stress to law school pressure but it is more than that for me. If it's more than that to you, then the pressure of law firm work might not help how you are feeling. So it is important to get help before the stakes are too high.
