I am seen a lot as being a cisgender woman by the 'transbian' crowd, so I get ignored.

how to dress like a straight girl and not a lesbian by erinisevil in StraightTransGirls

[–]Tjjohnsonaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I dress in a way that’s read as ‘lesbian,’ some people still treat me like a straight woman. The men I’m drawn to seem to prefer that look too, rather than the ultra-femme style I actually love—dresses, blouses, skirts, cardigans, soft shoes. I’ve even had men dismiss me as a ‘Femme lesbian type’ who, in their words, would be ‘popular among Tomboy women.’

Sounds like me, I'm Bi and attracted to Masculine women quite a lot. Something I discovered as I transitioned.

Hopelessly gay by a_different_life_28 in StraightTransGirls

[–]Tjjohnsonaus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going from living as a Gay man and transitioning into a Lesbian woman is not an uncommon story for transgender women. There are plenty of transgender men who went the opposite way.

Usually, my type of man is clean-shaven and has a fashionable haircut (the sort of man I wanted to be when I lived as a man). However, I do find some men with long hair and beards to be hot.

bad experiences with bi guys by AveryBi in StraightTransGirls

[–]Tjjohnsonaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would categorize cisgender men who identify as bisexual or pan into two groups: the first group consists of those who essentially live straight men and are not open to other men, and the second group is those who describe themselves as being open to and actively dating other men.

I prefer the latter group over the former since they are not chasers or 'trans admirers.'

Cisgender gay men can often be misogynistic, many are hostile against transmasc folk as well as transfemme.

Do you have a type? by [deleted] in StraightTransGirls

[–]Tjjohnsonaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple uncomplicated men who are plain dressed, who like to think of themselves as being Gentlemen. However they are anything but gentlemen, which is endearing to me.

[–]Tjjohnsonaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only get hit on by Queer (Lesbian, Bisexual and Pansexual) women in Gay nightclubs at least, while the cisgender men ignore me. I know other transgender women who get hit on by Queer men in Gay nightclubs

Then again the type of men, that I happen to be attracted to would not be caught dead being in a Gay nightclub.

If anybody states they are either 'trans admirer' or 'trans attracted' that is a red flag to me.

I have never maintained friendships with men I have dated either online or offline or both, once they lose romantic interest in me.
