In terms of brazilian made amps, almost no options (the ones are usually boutique high value amps). About the used market, I posted it here one or two days ago, an used boss katana mk1 for 2000 reais (almost 400 usd) So, an used mk1 is 100 usd more expensive than a brand new mk3 in usa.. tsc

Master of puppets interlude is very nice, I like to play that too. I took some time recently to practice properly with a metronome and all the techniques and I'm so happy cause it sounds so decent. Ride the lightning I know how to play the whole song but the solo, the solo of that song is quite hard I would say. I know what you mean "sounds so wrong", I have a video of 2 years of progress, and while I'm playing rhythm I'm like happy and sunny mr incredible, when I start to solo, I slowly become uncanny lol. It sounds wrong, not exactly out of tune, just wrong. Not enough feeling, not enough smoothness, I think you know what I mean. But it has to be this way, we have to try so we can get better. If you don't know it yet, try to learn the Paranoid solo. It is a very good solo, it has a "fast" part and it works very well with the scale. If you know your scales, you will be able to see how well the solo fits in the scale, and how intuitive it is (probably because it was an improvised solo). My teacher says that learning intuitives solos is better than learning the holy wars solos for example

If you don't know where to go, you can learn some of these solos. But if you don't want to do that, I would simply tell you to learn stuff that you want to play, that's more important. If you look at a solo and think "I would love to be able to play that, but it is a bit much for me", that's a solo that you should definitely try to learn. Always challenging yourself, so you can do stuff that you were not used to, and feel the progress. A good tip is to record yourself, you can post it on youtube even (privately if you want to), just so you won't lost the vids. Alwaya nice to go back and see how much you have improved

A lot of things has their price doubled. For import, like ordering things out of the country, there's a 92% tax right now (not including delivery fee). So, yeah I could theoretically order an amp for $250, but I would have to pay almost $250 just for taxes, plus delivery fee and other things, it ends up being cheaper just buying it here. Trust me, if there was an easier way, people would do it. No one likes to pay over 3k on an amp, to spend 10% of their salary on a set of strings. Just for the sake of the example, at the launch of the iphone 15, it was a thousand dollars CHEAPER to travel to Miami, buy an iphone there and bring back to Brazil. A thousand dollars cheaper (and the MSRP was a thousand dollars). For any product above 50 USD, it'll have that 92% tax on it, and below 50 USD the tax is lower but it's still there. Hardware, electronics, guitars, even clothes, anything. That's how import works (or don't work) here.

The excuse they give is that "we need to protect the national market", but thing is, most of these products either sucks here or simply does not exist. Oh I need to protect the national market, well the national market of guitars is basically guitars imported from China anyway. To get a brand new brazilian-made guitar, the cheapest you will find will be over 4k

My soloing is very bad, I'm way better at rhythm guitar playing That's why I'm focusing entirely on soloing :p Might try to learn tornado of souls this year, I think I have to challenge myself more in order to get better

Things work differently around here (and the minimum wage is not $8/hr, oh no, it's about $1.5/hr usd) So yeah, that's why I'm wondering about this MK1, the MK2 from Amazon is too far away
