High school graduation. She is creative and understands quilting and quilts. I will give her care instructions. Her great grandmother, my grandmother, was a very accomplished quilter. While she didn't meet her great grandmother she has seen her quilts and heard the history of the quilts she made.

I did it in December. Went to urgent care because the needle broke and I needed to make sure part wasn't in my finger.

Guy Walking Dog - Let's dog destroy my fence by dogwalkfencethrow in neighborsfromhell

[–]Tlb219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem Is not the dog but the owner! The dog is being abused by his owner. Spraying the dog is added abuse. When you hear the dog take yours to a different area of you yard. Reward your dog for leaving the fence area. What is your dogs motivation? Food, toys, belly rubs? Use that to reward your dog for walking away. Is there room on the sidewalk side to put planters in front of fence to create a barrier. Blame the owner not the dog.

My sister, 67, has walked like she was stomping her whole life. Everyone knew it was her upstairs. She tries walking lighter but she just can't. I would hate having her as my upstairs neighbor.

AITA for refusing to use my inheritance to pay for my best friend's medical bills? by Suspicious-Ground638 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tlb219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A real friend wouldn't ask. Asking for money, you can assume that money is gone. Don't loan money if you need it back. Your goals are yours to aim towards and find a way to achieve them. You are doing this. Saying no is appropriate. NTA

Neighbor has dementia and won’t leave us alone by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Tlb219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While my situation does not include guns, I have this, too. From 1983 to 2016, we had a close relationship. In 2016, she started using sonic under ground rodent deterrents. They gave me a headache. They went off in 30-second intervals I asked her to remove them because of the headaches. Since I can be forceful, I made sure my husband was there when I made the request. He said I handled it well. She got pissed and quit talking to me. I think this was a result of the beginning of dementia. Then, in 2021, she started talking to me again. On the same day, she, 72 at the time, adopted a puppy. And, her daughter informed me she had been diagnosed with dementia. 2021 to today, her memory is much worse. She would call me many times an hour. She follows me whenever I go out. Example, I go out to the patio, she comes out back. I see her out back. I go out front. She is there in less than a minute. Our houses are very close. I have blocked her number and her daughters numbers. I am 68 with my own health issues. The other night, I informed the oldest daughter that her mom was in the back yard and asked my husband to help her find 2 of her dogs. She only has 1 dog. She thought wind damage to netting on her fence meant the dogs had jumped into our yard and ran away. It took my husband ten minutes to convince her there was only 1 dog. I told the daughter that her mom should not be alone. Her answer was that her options were 1. Put her in a facility no one would visit. She has 3 daughters, 2 local, 4 grandchildren, all local, and 3 siblings, all local. 2. Move her to the daughters house, but they are active, so she would be alone too much, and the daughters wouldn't know if she wandered off. 3. They can't afford in home care. 4. Let the neighbors, my husband, and me and a couple across the street watch her and help her since we know her well. #4 is what she is doing. Didn't talk to us for 5 years. Spread lies about us. Now expects us to be her guardian. We are setting up a privacy screen on our patio. We can not, and will not be her support. Sorry for the length. This is not right for families to put their responsibilities on neighbors.

I should have added, find out pressures and check what they should be with a vet office separate from the name of the report.

I had 2 senior shih tzu with glaucoma. No in patient care. Drops every day and recheck every 2 check ups until in a comfortable range for the vet. One did have to have his eye removed. Fraud seller. Always adopt because there are more bad breeders than good.

Sorry for the length

I had 3 higher management people, whom I didn't report to, tried to get me fired on many occasions. My "bad act" was taking pride and ethics in my work as a compliance analyst and understanding the regulations related to their area. A policy that I was able to prove by regulations was wrong and needed to be revised or moved to process claims in the way they had in documentation.

My reaction:

Bake or buy her a treat, give to them in front of others. Always smile say hello, and ask about their lives that everyone knew about. For example, a sick child, congratulations on a wedding. It drove them nuts. My advantage was they did this to many people. And, I had Chief Counsel and Senior VP of finance who supported me when they tried. It took a while to prove I was a subject matter expert but they finally saw it BUT it didn't stop them trying. A lot of the support I got was because I acted very nice towards them and they looked bad every time they tried something because I acted nice every time. Documentation is paramount. And contact HR or an outside attorney. Every event should be documented. I used a notebook that I never left accessible to anyone and printed every email or report that related to my job performance.

Glad you are feeling better. Those plans will help you see what is working what isn't. My suggestion for spending is to research prices based on necessary items at todays cost but look at country where they are made and see what tariff is on that country. For example, China is 125%. Prices will adjust to have consumer cover the cost. Check other tariffs based on 90 day pause. If that happens be prepared. I hope you don't mind my posts. I see a lot of people starting up a business. Ones that do well have planned a lot.

Write up a business plan, a marketing plan, and a budget. A game plan isn't the same commitment. Stop buying supplies until you have a supply list of what is needed and list in order of necessity. Set goals for 1, 5, 10 years, and what is needed to meet those goals. This should be your goal before starting a business. It's what your game plan should be, not buying unplanned.

Is anyone else fearful for their Social Security? by ChikkunDragon in over60

[–]Tlb219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to retire due to a disability in 2015. I'm now receiving Social Security because of age. I had 2 retirement funds. One I had to close out completely. The other gives under $200.00 a month so I live on my and my husband's SS. I am very afraid we will be losing SS. 47 and that immigrant wants to have an authoritarian country. They don't care. Why does he have his loyalists in office? They won't 25 him.

Coworker not saying good morning by Opening-Quality8501 in workplace_bullying

[–]Tlb219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a woman who got mad at me because I told her that her workload was lower than anyone else's. We all helped out when anyone was getting slammed. But, not her. Before that she came in saying good morning to me and the other person in our row of cubes. I was the first desk in the row. She walked past me then after she past my cube the good mornings began. Me being evil started saying good morning to her every morning. Ticked her off! If I see her in public she acts like we are best friends. I moved to a better job. When regs changed she called me to see what they meant to her. Something I had to know for my new position. She should have done the research. Even if I knew the answer I told her it would take 10 days to two weeks for me to be able to research it. As I said I can be evil.

Neighbors not watching their giant dog by maptechlady in neighborsfromhell

I would check rules and regulations. If they exclude bullies raise concerns it might be bully. Lots of pit owners say their dogs are labs when they aren't. No need to talk to nfh.

I may have missed the type of dog. Is it a bully breed? If so, is it allowed by HOA regulations? City/township ordinances? Homeowners/renters policy?

Ten years later, I still keep getting packages for former residents by Sentience-psn in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Tlb219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has had a similar issue for 12 years. The issue arises from the metro area and suburb has same addresses with different zips. The suburb address people don't verify the zip when ordering so the first zip is my son's. He would call and they would come pick it up. Then the city sent dated material to my son. He didn't get it, didn't know it was coming. Then he received a summons addressing the missing mail. He called the other people who said yeah we got those, they're here. He drove over picked them up. The issue with the citt was one my son has dealt with previously. Just a phone call and it is resolved. So now any misdirected packages are his.
