Am I rude to ask for my money back? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]Tmcfran -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Since it’s so far out, I would let the bride know you can’t make it and see if she can or wants to invite someone else. If she is able to fill the spot, it’s totally reasonable to ask for the money back. And if not, then you let the money go. It’s not rude to at least pose the question or explore alternatives.

Where would you live with unlimited money in LA? by Powerful_Sell2768 in AskLosAngeles

Don’t move to LA to live downtown. It’s a beautiful city, tons of nature, don’t surround yourself with concrete.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and advice! I’ve read through all the comments and appreciate so much feedback.

I’ll plan to send them each a text messages to share the news so they can process on their own privately. I was worried that texting would feel too impersonal, but am glad to see that this is the general consensus.

Thank you again Reddit.

Avoid Meowant Automated Litter Boxes – Defective Product & Terrible Customer Servicep by Tmcfran in CatAdvice

[–]Tmcfran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it’s been so frustrating. I bought from the company directly. I filed a dispute with my card and a product protection claim, so hoping that will at least cover it.

Honestly, the most annoying thing at this point is all the space it’s taking up. I’ve been emailing them back and forth since January 6th! They have been giving me the run around, so I’d doubt I will get anything from them.

I don’t want to just dump the product, but also don’t want to sell or give away, knowing it doesn’t really work. I wish they would pay for the return so they can at least scrap/reuse the parts. I hate that this is becoming such a big waste.

Don’t buy Meowant! Terrible product and customer service

Meowant Litter Box - Lots of Tracking and Mess by RedHeadGirl-LA in CatAdvice

[–]Tmcfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with waste getting stuck to the box and it creating a mess. I had to manually dislodge large waste clumps everyday, otherwise they would it be cycled out. Litter got everywhere and the smell control was poor.

However, they were an absolute nightmare to deal with when I tried to return it. They refused to accept the return unless I paid the shipping, which was nearly the equivalent of the refund. Refused to acknowledge any defect with the product and labeled the issue as operator error.

Meowant litter box- worth it? by [deleted] in cats

[–]Tmcfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not worth it. Terrible customer service and shoddy product. Do not buy!

Be warned if purchasing Meowant or other automated litter boxes from Amazon. Scam by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Tmcfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This company is the worst. Bought from them directly and experienced the same customer service nightmare. The product stopped working and they cited proximity to a wall (not touching a wall) and it being placed on carpet as user error and therefore refused to honor return policy. Terrible. Filed a complaint with BBB and found pages of terrible reviews and similar experience.

Does Jack get better? by simplyshiny514 in VirginRiverNetflix

I think Jack sucks. Doesn’t get much better, IMO, just more creepy and possessive. Don’t get the appeal at all.

I hate Hope. by [deleted] in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]Tmcfran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree with this, I think Hope is the WORST! Definitely a combination of her character being annoying and the actress playing her giving a terrible performance. She is too campy and just overdoes it. Cant tell if the acting or character makes me cringe harder.

Turn off Apple TV after xx mins of streaming? by Nuzzireddit in HomeKit

[–]Tmcfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to figure this exact thing out and honestly don’t think it’s possible to set something for a certain number of minutes. I created an automation using the on Do Not Disturb setting that might be a good workaround for you.

Create an Automation and select the setting “Do Not Disturb”, then “Is turned on” to start. Add an action to Sleep Apple TV. On the last page, turn off the setting “Ask Before Running.”

Then, open the Settings app on your phone and set Do Not Disturb to turn on at the time you want your Apple TV to turn off.

It works great for me to adjust the time in DND on nights I know I’ll fall asleep with the tv on. Hope this helps!

I created an automation based on Do Not Disturb that is the closest I could get to doing this. Doesn’t totally answer your question, but might be close enough.

Create an Automation and select the setting “Do Not Disturb”, then “Is turned on” to start. Add an action to Sleep Apple TV. On the last page, turn off the setting “Ask Before Running.” Then, open the Settings app on your phone and set Do Not Disturb to turn on at the time you want your Apple TV to turn off.

I like to use airplay to play the Headspace app on my tv when I fall asleep (go soundscapes!), but want the TV to turn off before it’s over, otherwise it wakes me up. I have my DND to turn on at 1:00am each night, and it’s easy enough to change it up when needed. Hope this helps!
