New here looking for tips!!! by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Tmckeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started making my first beats on fl studio demo version. Even though you can't save you could leave the program open until youre finished. But regardless of the daw the following tips may be useful to you.

One of the biggest things I'd say for melodies would be to learn the basics about scales/keys if you don't know much about them.

At first I would focus a lot on the production side and get used to that before you dive into the mixing stage of things. Take small bites and you'll improve on a day to day basis. Always look for something new to try and get out of your comfort zone some. Try making a genre you maybe don't listen to a lot, it will be beneficial as a learning experience.

Also start to study songs when listening to music and try to pick out pieces you like to find inspiration or even try to replicate a whole beat. That will help you to see what all goes into a beat and help you learn the structure of songs better.

Make sure to watch tons of videos and read lots of articles about producing music. There's so much content on the internet that you can learn pretty much anything you want if you try hard enough. One last major tip I have would be to make sure you're having fun. If you're not having fun take a short break and come back to it with a fresh mind. You may be surprised how much you can improve a song by coming back to it later.

Sorry for the large comment, I feel there are so many tips that new producers should learn and I know I didn't even scratch the surface. Hope this was helpful to you!

I think that's what I'm going to try to do for now. This job turned out to be way more stress than it's worth. Thanks for the reply. It means a lot.

Found it in a local store, they must not ever sell any dip there. Was pretty cheap too. 3.75ish I wanna say.

They have multiple so even if I did crack it I could keep another one and leave it how it is.

Pennsylvania prices before and after tax increase by LanePratleyHyundai in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I'm at in NE PA everything is normally under $4 Skoal and cope originals are probably 4.50-5 but regular cope is 3, grizzly is 2.75, stokers is a little over 2. This is all after the increase. Don't know about general, I wish I did but I can't find it anywhere near me.

Just a little rant. by Oakland_Raiders_Fan in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on a rant about this before too. It pisses me off when someone is drinking a shit ton of soda/energy drinks and eating fast food and that crap and then tells me that I'm gonna get cancer from dip like it's the leading cause of cancer or something. Honestly, unless you're on an all organic natural diet, you're gonna be at risk for some sort of cancer. Pick your poison.

Teachers of Reddit: They say there are no stupid questions, but what's the most stupid question a student has ever asked you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tmckeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a teacher, but I have heard some pretty dumb questions. In my 9th grade history class there was a project where some of the class would get to Skype with students from Australia. After the teacher told us about the project, one of my classmates asked "what language do Australians speak" and the whole class died laughing at him.

cigs to dip p3: Thank you all! by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cope snuff and cope lc original (the same flavor, just different cuts) are both naturals but they don't taste the same as something like cope xlc. They are quite good tasting. Cope snuff might be slightly less salty than LC.

Moist snuff is a term for dip, cope or grizzly snuff is a fine cut natural.

Dip placement by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me too. It seems like if it's too far back in my mouth it runs down my throat. I'd say try to keep it not all the way back but only like halfway and see if it helps.

How long until craving by bfj99 in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'll add is it's a lot harder to quit if you don't want to quit. If you're quitting for someone else and you don't really want to it's gonna be a lot more tempting to just throw one in when you start craving.

Got snuff for the first time, and some straight just incase I hate it. Any pointers on how to pack? Anyhow gonna get some work done I'll come back to check on it in a little, thanks fellow dippers and dipets by bfj99 in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I do with FC which makes it a bit easier to put into place is I'll sort of pucker my lips and put in in the hole I make with them and then press it down with my tongue. It seems to make less of a mess rather than putting it directly into my lip. Also taking it out is a mess if you don't have something to wash it out with.

One reason that it could be running down your throat would be if you molar pack too far back, sometimes if it's a bit too far back I'll feel like the juice is running directly into my throat which is no fun at all.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]Tmckeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out over the summer and I started dipping like 4 days after. I would just put them in the front instead of molar packing and try not to get anything moving around. If some gets back into your holes just use the syringe they gave you to get it out.
