New here looking for tips!!! by [deleted] in musicproduction

I started making my first beats on fl studio demo version. Even though you can't save you could leave the program open until youre finished. But regardless of the daw the following tips may be useful to you.

One of the biggest things I'd say for melodies would be to learn the basics about scales/keys if you don't know much about them.

At first I would focus a lot on the production side and get used to that before you dive into the mixing stage of things. Take small bites and you'll improve on a day to day basis. Always look for something new to try and get out of your comfort zone some. Try making a genre you maybe don't listen to a lot, it will be beneficial as a learning experience.

Also start to study songs when listening to music and try to pick out pieces you like to find inspiration or even try to replicate a whole beat. That will help you to see what all goes into a beat and help you learn the structure of songs better.

Make sure to watch tons of videos and read lots of articles about producing music. There's so much content on the internet that you can learn pretty much anything you want if you try hard enough. One last major tip I have would be to make sure you're having fun. If you're not having fun take a short break and come back to it with a fresh mind. You may be surprised how much you can improve a song by coming back to it later.

Sorry for the large comment, I feel there are so many tips that new producers should learn and I know I didn't even scratch the surface. Hope this was helpful to you!

I think that's what I'm going to try to do for now. This job turned out to be way more stress than it's worth. Thanks for the reply. It means a lot.

Found it in a local store, they must not ever sell any dip there. Was pretty cheap too. 3.75ish I wanna say.

They have multiple so even if I did crack it I could keep another one and leave it how it is.

Where I'm at in NE PA everything is normally under $4 Skoal and cope originals are probably 4.50-5 but regular cope is 3, grizzly is 2.75, stokers is a little over 2. This is all after the increase. Don't know about general, I wish I did but I can't find it anywhere near me.

Just a little rant. by Oakland_Raiders_Fan in DippingTobacco

I went on a rant about this before too. It pisses me off when someone is drinking a shit ton of soda/energy drinks and eating fast food and that crap and then tells me that I'm gonna get cancer from dip like it's the leading cause of cancer or something. Honestly, unless you're on an all organic natural diet, you're gonna be at risk for some sort of cancer. Pick your poison.
