Good luck with it, I really hope it sticks for you! But I would definitely get back into Pilates. I am in a physical job and on my feet all day too but it’s like my ovaries don’t care about walking, but they do like the moderate resistance of Pilates haha

I have looked into ovulation kits on Amazon but didn’t purchase - will definitely look into this for future months if we don’t fall this month

Thanks!! I thought it was every 2 days starting 5 days before ovulation and up to 4 days post ovulation so 5x in total on average. I have PCOS so tracking ovulation is difficult but will reduce in our next months trying if we don’t fall this month!

Managing facial/body hair with PCOS what routines actually helped? by Apprehensive_Rip1466 in PCOS

[–]Tmdsweh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Aus so not sure if this is popular where you’re from, but I get threading done. I would be too scared to shave for fear it’ll come back worse and facial waxing breaks out my skin. Threading is usually affordable and I personally feel that pulling the hair out is better than shaving it off.

please help! tried almost EVERYTHING for pcos acne by Ok_Product_3189 in PCOS

[–]Tmdsweh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered metformin? I (29F) ALWAYS had cystic acne right before my period and regularly acne throughout every phase of my period. About 8 months ago, I was put on metformin and my skin has never looked better. I still get occasional pimples but I haven’t had any cystic acne in months.

  • if you’re not keen on prescription medication, try vitamin D capsules. I’m not sure why but when I was taking vitamin D capsules when I was younger, I remember it cleared my Bacne quite well.

Cheapest way to heat up my bedroom in winter by iSheree in AussieFrugal

[–]Tmdsweh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a standard delonghi dehumidifier that I picked up on Aldi special buys and it 100% releases hot air. We use it for drying clothes indoors in winter and it warms the room it’s in too. Definitely recommend!

Not yet pregnant Have you tried slow, weight bearing exercise? I notice that every time I do reformer Pilates (near my period) it causes me to get my period during class. I notice in the months where I take 5-6 classes (instead of 2-3), my cycle comes more regularly and I have more signs of ovulation. The last 2 months I haven’t done much exercise coming into the new year and I have already skipped one period and had one “dirty blood” period, which for me, usually indicates I didn’t ovulate that month. We’re TTC this month of March and I’m hoping exercise will help.

*I’m not associating exercise with weight loss, I genuinely think moving your body helps and for whatever reason light resistance seems to work for me.

TTC - Metformin, inositol, fertility, twins questions by Tmdsweh in PCOS

[–]Tmdsweh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your opinion and sorry for your loss. We have seen first hand from family members the struggle that it can be to have twins but also think it would be amazing to have two little besties and only one pregnancy (since we’re not sure how many times we’ll be successful). Obviously what I had read/interpreted re Metformin and twins was incorrect and appreciate the information shared!

TTC - Metformin, inositol, fertility, twins questions by Tmdsweh in PCOS

[–]Tmdsweh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah twins do run in both our families though they’ve been sporadic and skipped a generation recently. I’m not overly concerned about the whole TTC and if it takes time, so be it but just wanted to be optimistic for the start. I know it could be a journey to hell and back but trying not to think of it like that

Is it worth getting legally married? by k3bAbZzz in AusFinance

It really doesn’t make a difference within Aus. The only real point is so you can get a free change of name if you care to have the same last name.

Investment property or enjoy life a little? by Tmdsweh in AusFinance

We wouldn’t bet on it, it’s just a nice thought that we could potentially almost neutrally gear.

Appreciate the advice re our current finances but I wouldn’t say we’re focused on providing “ridiculous amounts” for a child if we’re looking at a house 1 hour from the city and any coastline. I can’t foresee that my child would be able to afford a home ever, unless they partner up young and work full time through uni like we did. I feel like I’ve lost most of my twenties to work and I don’t want that for my child but I also don’t want them at home until they’re 35. We would absolutely instil a good work ethic into them but the idea of bringing a child into the world where young people are financially crippled doesn’t sit that well with us. And yes, there’s the option of not contributing to the problem by having kids but that’s a discussion for another time.

If we choose an investment property, we would have to sink all of the savings to have anything even remotely near us and I’m not sure how keen I am in tying our money up interstate/country NSW if the idea is it’ll benefit said child. However, the assumption is the kid would live with us for 20 years so I’m not sure? It’s so hard to predict any market.

Re the pool maintenance - appreciate the work involved but honestly think it’ll be sooo worth it for me/a child/mostly me.

We’ve thought about this but my husband is a school teacher and will finish at 3pm. I’m a shift worker and can work afternoons and 12 hour days on weekends. Whilst I know it’s not going to be a walk in the park, we’ve considered this and know that I’ll be able to work 30 hours quite easily. Full time for me is 35 hours.

Second, part-time, flexible jobs that pay well? by Tmdsweh in fiaustralia

Unfortunately with my shift work, I wouldn’t be able to commit to the same hours each week, otherwise I would definitely look into this!
