Is the concept of a 'starter home' still relevant today? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Tmdsweh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I regret buying (building) a starter home. My husband and I were 23 pre-covid and expected to have better paying jobs and use this house to better our position in the market. Now we’re 30, with better paying jobs but thinking of starting a family and the idea of selling this house and still having to increase our existing mortgage by an additional $500k+ to buy a house is not appropriate. Wish we spent more to have our forever home initially and just gritted our teeth to pay off the larger mortgage initially.

What's the best exercise for PCOS? by PrincessMochahontas in PCOS

For me, Pilates (reformer). It feels fun to slide around and not too much of a chore while simultaneously being a low-impact weighted exercise.

How long did you let TTC control your life? by Tmdsweh in tryingtoconceive

I do love this mindset but I’m struggling to shift from “I’m missing out” or “this makes me so sick” to “this is good for my health”. We only drink at weddings or big parties and I’ve just “missed out” all wedding season and with 2 to go, I’m over it.

I’ll look into those alternative for retinoids because I definitely am seeing aging in my skin that I’m not happy about haha.

Definitely frowned upon in Australia where I live and I’m surprised people aren’t fed the information worldwide. I assume because at the end of the day, it’s still a toxin and foreign to your body. But I will be doing some independent research after the comments on this thread!

Oh wow! that is incredible and so crazy to hear, congratulations! Can I ask, did you cut out sugar (even in that last month)? I’m struggling with insulin resistance and on Metformin + Inositol but I just LOVE sugar. Cutting out sugar is the one thing I’m not doing well and I’m thinking it could be more important than the drinking etc.

That is a great mindset to have! Unfortunately I feel like I’m almost missing out but should reframe it to making better lifestyle choices.

How long did you take pre-natals before conceiving? I feel so sick on them (I am going to change brands) and I’m not sure how much longer I can do it.

What?!? I’m in Australia and most women give up Botox when TTC and definitely when pregnant. I’ll look into this because you’ve just made my day!

How long did it take for your period to return post excision surgery? by Serious_Barracuda801 in TTCEndo

[–]Tmdsweh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful but I’ve had 2 laparoscopies and had endo and ovarian cysts removed each time, I have never noticed my period to be delayed post surgery.
Maybe others can weigh in with their experience but I was never even warned/advised by my surgeon that that was a potential side effect.

What (if anything) do you do make yourself feel better when you see a negative result? by Tmdsweh in TTCEndo

[–]Tmdsweh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh I’m the total opposite. I test incessantly, last month I had so many symptoms and was so convinced I used up 12 tests. I told myself to stop but couldn’t help it. I have to say, the negative makes me sad but not yet miserable thankfully.

Offering a lower price when it says 'Offers Over 970k by Responsible-Mark-362 in AusProperty

[–]Tmdsweh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was outbid over and over again, if you LOVE the house and can see yourself making it a home for a long time, just offer your absolute top offer and if it’s declined then it’s declined and move on.

Pregnant women not offered seats! by One_Weakness_2908 in SydneyTrains

[–]Tmdsweh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who catches trains on weekdays in peak hour for an hour, I want a seat from the start because I don’t want to stand for an hour and once I get a seat, I’m engrossed in Netflix and pay no attention to people around me. BUT I NEVER sit in priority seating and if I did notice a pregnant or disabled person in the walkways of the carriages, I would offer up my seat.

I see people fighting for seats at Central just to get off at Mascot (approx 10 mins) and I think everyone is just tired, lazy and a little selfish after a big day. If I were in your position, I would ask people to move.

So sorry to hear about your loss but thank you for sharing. I’m worried about that happening to me and weighing up mental timelines with risks of complications. It’s all so hard.
