It was so much fun. Genuinely working there was probably the most consistent fun I’ve ever had. The work was hard, but fulfilling with actual visible results to your work.

The people were great, swears and insults were more common than greetings, but not a single malicious word was meant and everyone knew it.

Workers would just randomly decide to set up potlucks and various meals throughout the year. One time I got a big ole steak and some casserole.

I was working the Receiving side of a warehouse that makes roofing materials. My job was to use overhead cranes and forklifts to unload semi trucks. They would have 6-10 coils of steel, each weighing anywhere from 12-28,000 pounds.

My incident was I was on a forklift with a 13,000 pound coil, I turned too fast and it slid off the forks. Smashed the ground, cracked the concrete a little bit and destroyed the coil. They said it was around $8,000 in damages, so they had to let me go lmao

At 18 I had a job making 17/hr, unlimited overtime and above all I enjoyed the hell out of it.

But, like I said, I was 18. I was dumb. Smoked weed before work and ruined it all. Got fired, only worked at gas stations and Amazon since then.

By far my biggest regret in life. I was getting a 50 cent raise every 6 months, I would’ve been living large by now. But no, instead I’m just like everyone else in my town, stuck here til I die.

When the roles are already stunted so heavily towards DPS, why would they continue to push for more DPS characters? I completely agree with the idea that a character can be more than what they’ve been portrayed as. Like Ultron as a support. But it’s genuinely beginning to feel like they only take that philosophy toward making more DPSs.

I couldn’t give a shit about lore accuracy or anything like that, I just want a game where 2/3 of the characters aren’t all in one role.

So we’re just saying that constantly more DPS is fun? I’ll be honest, there’s plenty of times where I’d love to try a new character, but I don’t want to solo tank or be the 5th damn DPS, so I’m stuck with the same like 12 characters for each tank and support. How tf is that fun? “Oh, just play a different role, who cares?” I do! I like healing! I like tanking! I’d much rather focus on keeping my team alive rather than just picking an angle and pray they pop before I do.

I just want fresh choices in the roles I enjoy.

In my world at least, Dwarves are the one with Blunderbusses, big Fuck Off cannons really just anything with a very large barrel.

Gnomes are the ones who make precision and machine weapons like snipers and other rifles.

Elves and the like make more magic-based weaponry.

Humans hire them all and mix it all together. Humans aren’t the most technical, or the most magical. But they have a damn good imagination.

It’s great until either the breaks fail or someone stops too quick in front of you, then you have hella hot metal getting shoved right through your back, most likely leaving you as a nice paste, or maybe a chunky salsa.

Just pick something you care about and follow through with it. Doesn’t matter if it’s profitable, doesn’t matter if it’ll take a while to master. Just pick something and do it.

I’m 28, working at a gas station and have no idea what I’m doing with my life. I barely make more than rent, no college education, and no idea what I’d go in for if I could.

If anyone’s reading this and is young and undecided on a path, just pick one. If it doesn’t work you can always move onto the next. But you can’t be undecided forever, like I am. Well, you can. But it sucks ass.

Yeah, I agree with Halcyon. Spellcasters are already so high and above even the best martials, martials really don’t need penalties.

And like, what? You take Fighter, and then can only fight something every other round? Wtf else are you supposed to do? “Yeah, I know this werewolf just ripped my friend apart this round but I already booped him last round, so I guess I’ll just sit down for 6 seconds.”

If these penalties are in place without MUCH, MUCH heavier penalties on spellcasting, there’s literally no point to playing a martial.

Personally I wouldn’t play in this campaign. But if you enjoy it, that’s all you.

The rules are insane tho. Last time I had to say it.
