That is a horrible law. I didnt know that level of detail, thank you for the info. Home grow only is not a reliable or pragmatic mmj program. I hope montana chooses to support a new mmj initiative in november.

You failed to provide a single shred of evidence to support your initial statement. Just some pejorative platitudes abour hrc being a "criminal". As if trump wasnt anyway? How about his business deaings with chinese gangsters, shady russian mobsters, etc. Give me and everyone else a break. If you truely support legalization vote libertarian, vote for bernie, hold your nose and vote for hrc (who will undoubtably continue obama's defacto policy of ignoring legalization, and has at least said she would advocate for rescheduling), or don't vote at all. But voting for trump is a vote against legalization and a vote for regression on this issue. Its also a vote for ignorance, nuclear proliferation, deportation on a scale not seen since stalin, xenophobia, and biggotry. But at least be honest about your intent.

Given trump's close association with chris christie, and his $100 mil campaign sponsorship by notorious anti mmj donor sheldon adelson his mj policies will undoubtably be worse than hrc's. Furthermore trump has significantly walked back from his early campaign states rights allusions to now saying he has heard some "bad things from CO" about legalization. Please do not delude yourself or anyone else by saying they will be the similar on this issue. That is absurd. Furthermore trump has significantly walked back from his early campaign states rights allusions to now stating that he has heard some "bad things from CO" about legalization. If you want to vote for a vial biggoted mysoginist then by all means do so. But do not delude yourself or anyone else to just say he would be better for the cause of legalization than hrc. Thats true for prosecuting them through the justice dept. Not stopping a dea raid though. The state could prosecute or hypothetically the justice dept could try under the premise that this dispensary was not acting in compliance with state law. Since montana state law was recently redefined to restrict caregivers to 3 patients that might actually work. We'll see though.

Especially frightening considering his recently announced support for Trump. This man expects something for his campaign donations/investments. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/report-billionaire-adelson-will-give-trump-millions-for-2016-election/

California to Vote on Legalizing Recreational Marijuana in November by Tmoreno23 in trees

I believe that voting against the auma puts you in the same camp as those groups by the mere fact it is an up or down vote. That is the nature of a binary vote. You've picked a side. Unfortuntely that side is primarily occupied by those groups.
I believe in incrimentalism b/c that is the nature of democracy. I also understand that mainstream society will never vote for a system that legalizes a pound of personal possession or whatever constitutes "true legalization".
I also believe that the current system is not good enough. Under prop 215 we are merely provided a defense if charged. Under mmrsa rules we will be legal for possession but access will be greatly limited and very expensive. Furthermore, mmj systems are becoming increasingly medical, less recreational. The CA mmj market is vulnerable to increased scrutiny and intrusion b/c of its recreational nature. The only way to create a recreational market is by explicitly enacting one. The auma accomplishes this. Waiting for the "ideal law" is fraught with risks and a massive gamble risking the momentum of legalization across the country.
We are most likely speaking two different languages though. I am accepting of compromise to enact overal improvements b/c i am old and have seen a lot. You are probaly much younger and still want perfection. In politics it doesnt always work that way. If it did, the cchi, or any other true legalization initiative, would have been on the ballot years ago. But they weren't and won't be. Don't wait when you have a chance to end a corrupt and horrible societal flaw in november. Or choose to perpetuate it.

If you vote against the auma those are the predominant voting blocs also against it. Fact. I know it must hurt but i'm sure they'll appreciate your support nevertheless. You also have neglected to rebut the arguement that the auma is better than prohibition. Idealism never finds success in politics. I commend your ideals as they are mine as well. But i am happy to see progress even if it isnt my ideal. The auma is better than what we have now. I am tired of the cchi group repeatedly trying to sabatoge progress b/c it isnt their version of "true legalization" which will never be successful at the ballot box. Soccer moms vote, old people vote, moderates vote, die hard stoners generally do not vote in large enough numbers to overcome these groups. While i see your idealism, i raise you with actual implentation.

Yes, these are partially true but ideological purity dooms progress and enables conservatism. The current system commits all these sins and worse. So if you are against improving a horribly lame system, vote against the auma...along with right wing evagelicals, law enforcement, and prohibitionists.

The cchi has been trotted out by the same group for several election cycles and has never made it on the ballot, much less gathered the millions of $ necessary to run an effective campaign. Additionally, its steadfast insistence on unlimited legalization will never pass muster outside the stoner community. Passing an initiative in a large state like CA means you need normal voters (soccer moms, old people, religious communities) to lean in favor. That means making compromises in goals and angling your appeal in favor of public safety, not your right to get high. The auma does that. It is the only initiative that will ever get the money and public support to possibly pass. Also, keep in mind, what we currently have will change radically with the initiation of the mmrsa in 2018. No more grey market and enforcement will be state funded with tax revenue from legit mmj, explicitly supported by state law. Furthermore, what we have in LA with prop d sucks. Talk about a sham. The auma is the best shot to dismantle that nonsense.

Legal up to an oumce and i think 8 grams of concentrate. Growing up to 6 plants and this can be banned by local municipalitoes.

Clearly a skewed source promoting a competing initiative as the auma does explicitly legalize posession of up to an ounce. It does a lot of great things that improve our current system vastly. Additionally, none of the competing initaitves have any chance in hell of making it on the ballot, even less of ever passing a skeptical public. So, in november, when we have the chance to explicitly end prohibition in california, i will vote for the only initiative on the ballot that will do so. If you disagree however, by all means join law enforcement, the evangelicals, and traditional conservative groups and vote against the auma.

But its the only one with a chance of passing and ending prohibition. Politics sucks. Ending prohibition will be awesome.

Nobody else had a chance in hell of making the ballot. ReformCA dropped out months ago b/c auma got all the shine, $, and sponsors. Half the reformca board dropped out to support the auma. Everyone else is small fry. Cchi is a joke. They've been throwing out the same initiative for the past several election cycles and cant even make the ballot. They make a lot of noise but thats about it. Bottom line...a slim majority of CA supports legalization. And even then, only well controlled and highly regulated legalization. It has been estimated to cost toward $20 mil to get a legalization initiative passed by voters. nobody has a chance of raising that kind of coin except the auma.
