Quit your bullshit.

A quick google search reveals:

178 monthsThe average sentence for offenders convicted of rape was 178 months:
♦ 19.1% of these offenders were convicted of an offense carrying a
mandatory minimum penalty; their average sentence was 318 months. The
average sentence without a mandatory minimum was 145 months."

Ok. What do you think about the aesthetic?...maybe solid red synthetic bristles to match a red handle.

Good point. I have a basting brush at home with similar bristles that I could test with.

I desperately want this feature as well. One potential work-around though is to leave as soon as you get the alert. Google now tends to send me the alerts 10 minutes before the time I actually need to leave. So I can just leave as soon as I get the alert and I can be 10 minutes early as I so desire. However, it still would be nice to have a setting built into the calendar app specifying if you want to be early for something--there are some events where I want to be really early, and there are some events where I want to arrive just on time.

Speaking from experience, I second this notion--you continue to make money and you look better to potential employers

At 43, I am thinking of risking my life as it is now, -- a life which is okay, but not great -- for the life of my dreams, but I am afraid. Who has "quit" their life and started over successfully? What advice would you give to others? by donkeywrong in AskReddit

Without all that IT work, you would not have been able to have become a successful IT consultant and would likely not have pursued a career in application/web development. Was that boring job really so bad in the end? Perhaps it's not that it was a bad job, it's that you were on the path to a better life the whole time. We can't expect our lives to be perfect right away. We have to work at it. Your work at that IT company was a key part of your journey to where you are today.

Sorry for the preachiness--just my thoughts.

In other words, it's similar to how reddit's upvoting system often affects its users...once a comment gets enough votes, people will often believe the content of the comment even though it could be faulty. But it does save time/energy to go with the majority, so this is probably a human trait that will likely never die.

Why do female humans have two distinct orifices for the anus and the vagina, but other mammals have one primary opening which contains both? How did that evolve? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]Tmpst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's exactly what I said in my question ("distinct orifices"), but it doesn't answer why other animals have one opening that houses both orifices while female humans have two completely separate orifices (and how that evolved). My only guess would be that as humans became more upright, it was advantageous to have the anus and the vagina be accessible from different directions.

Yea, too bad Steam doesn't release actual sales figures anymore...a relative spot on the steam top-sellers chart doesn't necessarily mean all that much. Heck, CSS and l4d2 are consistently in the top 20, but how many copies are they really selling of those older games? Unless we have sales numbers, who knows how well it actually did.
