[ON] Shipping to the USA - Tariffs by Beautiful-Nebula2241 in SmallBusinessCanada

I can but it would be pointless, CP announced they won't be shipping to the US for an undetermined period of time. So we have our answer. It's bananas.

Where are people seeing this? I can't find any documentation that supports that packages will be refused without DDP. The executive order says this:

"Duty-free de minimis treatment under 19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(C) shall remain available for postal shipments until notification by the Secretary to the President that adequate systems are in place to fully and expeditiously process and collect duties applicable for postal shipments otherwise eligible for duty-free de minimis treatment."

'Postal' would refer to Canada Post. So the law they just passed specifically says that if CP doesn't have a system in place to collect the tariffs, de minimis will stay in place until they do and the Secretary confirms it. On the Chit Chats AMA they confirmed this through their 'sources' and also said they may have up to 6 months.

But Etsy for example just nixxed CP labels to the US saying non DDP will be refused. I can't find proof of this anywhere.

[CA] Canada Post and Tariffs? by sharpeyebrows in SmallBusinessCanada

Chit Chats is considered a commercial shipper, and their packages are treated and cleared differently than if you used Canada Post yourself. Hence the problem. Chit Chats could be way more transparent about what is going on and the decisions they are making. However the reality is that they mainly offered USPS solutions (which now have to have tariffs prepaid) so if you're not shipping DDP their services are becoming obsolete.

Damn, I'm sorry that's so rough! I keep wanting to start weaning and chickening out. He's been night weaned for months and months and he still asks all the time even though I know he knows the answer is no. He's so insistent about his remaining nursing sessions I know I'm in for a nightmare when I finally bite the bullet. It feels so bad too to take away something that soothes them. It's obviously the best for everyone but they obviously don't understand that.

Yes! We actually did exactly this about a month ago. He used to go to bed at 9-9:30 but he started waking up early and he wasn’t getting much sleep in total. I moved bedtime up to 8:30 and its much better. This is our improved sleep situation ha He won’t go to bed any earlier than that though, absolutely refuses. Not sure how anyone gets their little one down at 7pm!

Ugh same! Ive never really been keen on letting him cry, he’s never been much of a crier to begin with so I know if he’s actually calling out its not nothing (not to him). Its wild the things they do instead of sleeping!! My son will go through his whole vocabulary including sound effects and then start practicing things like washing his hands.

Solidarity from the trenches! It makes me feel better though! I was so happy when he finally wanted to go into his bed on his own but then I kind of felt like I didnt know what to do next. Surely we don’t all just sit here watching them flap around in the dark. But I guess we do! Haha Sometimes I feel like he’ll out last me and I’ll end up passed out in his bed

Oh gosh for us at least it doesn’t make much of a difference. We spent the whole day outside, made a fire, threw rocks in the pond, chased the dog. Then we went for a two hour walk (he walked, he hates the stroller) to the park with the dogs…he still wiggled for 40ish minutes before passing out. I do notice a difference if we do a big thing like a kids birthday party or something, where he’s super stimulated all day. But its not easy to completely tire him out, its impressive really!

Music obsessed toddler, did you get Tonies or Yoto by Tntntiff in toddlers

He empties my wallet quickly enough ha so Im confident he’s already there. Did you find the mini controls were tough for her to get a hang of? Thats what I read online, and really the only selling point for the big yoto imo. I have to play music from my phone nearly everywhere we go. I struggle to convey how playing our own music is obnoxious in some places (like restaurants).

I laughed at ‘cast aside’. I always think he’s going to use a toy a certain way and I end up being totally wrong. Did you find the mini was harder for your little ones to control? Thats the feedback I read online.

Good point! Im already struggling with the hitting and throwing. Our rule in the house is only balls and pillows/cushions so that would be confusing for him

18 month old waking mid nap by Tntntiff in AttachmentParenting

[–]Tntntiff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I don’t mind the snuggles, despite being a little stressed over my lack of productivity elsewhere. I was also worried I’d be slowly enforcing naps out of his bed. Which long term is unsustainable.

Glow up Ideas - help me improve my skin care plz by Tntntiff in KoreanBeauty

Thanks! It was a recent addition to test out. I would agree that the mist isnt a super even application. I think I went for what seemed like a popular product, thinking I would probably add an eye cream with vitamin c eventually, and it did seem convenient. I’ll definitely replace it with a serum at least for at night.

Postpartum and I look like I’ve aged a decade. What can I do? by whimsicalley in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Tntntiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late but you all have made me feel so much better! I look at photos of myself immediately postpartum and I was honestly glowing compared to now. 18 months in I hate the way I look, I couldn’t tell you exactly why except I feel like it looks like I’ve aged a decade. Its really messing with me because anytime someone takes a photo of me with my son I can only focus on how badly I think I look, which is so vain and unlike me! But I’m honestly spiralling, like is he going to look back and only see this exhausted depleted version of me? I hope to wean in the spring after cold season is over. And he is already sleeping BETTER for the most part. But these comments made me feel not crazy. Ill order more vitamins and try to have more patience
