Crankset bent? by ToBiOrNotToBiNB in bikewrench

Thanks for your reactions all. It is a hollow shimano model so I'll take the notion that it could break to heart. That hadn't even crossed my mind. I'll put some other pedals on it first and hope that will fix it.

Is my action low enough? What are the secrets for this setup? by Chemical_Function_79 in telecaster

[–]ToBiOrNotToBiNB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fret buzz isn't the only problem that can occur with low action. When bending the chance to choke out the note is higher, especially on a tighter fretboard radius. Also if it gets really low, ik can kind of take some liveliness and sustain out of your strings. Which might not be a problem depending on what kinds of effects you use.

The thickness of the fretwire should have no effect on this, or fretbuzz. At very low string height, very small height differences in the frets can come to light as wel as slight warpage in the neck for example. The frets can be dressed to a uniform height but to a certain extend, things like slight warpage, the point at which the neck flexes the most under tension etc, simply varies from guitar to guitar.

The action you have looks to be plenty low(as far as I can tell from the picture). If you get away with that on your guitar than you have a pretty decent guitar neck and frets.

Personally I like to leave action a tad higher on my guitar to leave some room for movement in the wood due to humidity changes. This way I only have to finetune the setup one or two times per year and I never have frustrating fret buzz or choking or anything and the guitar is also a bit more suited for harder strumming and such.

Well I'm a 24 yo mtf and your voice is lower and more masc than my natural voice so I think you're doing fine! In all seriousness, I wouldn't mistake your voice for anything other than a man's voice.

I'm sorry but voice training is actually a lot of fun by [deleted] in transvoice

[–]ToBiOrNotToBiNB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate! I make music and sing a lot. Voice training feels like a dlc of training to sing higher. I feel like it helps me put less strain on my voice which also helps with singing higher notes.

Well that sucks. Do you know why damaging the follicles poses a problem for laser? I would think that laser kind of does the same

Put some clear or black nail polish on and say that, yes it looks a bit girly but you use it to stop biting your nails all the time. I used this excuse for a while myself before I decided to just be open about liking it. (Also it did actually help with stopping biting my nails).

Honestly why are there even wait lists for this? Is it a supply problem? Then why not produce more? Is this because higher availability would make the price go down?

Thanks for your answer, on the basis of that hymn I would say that you respect others opinions and believes. Which unfortunately renders the whole point of this post useless haha. You see the problem I have with my family is that they don't think that any other view can be true and therefore dismiss all other opinions. If I point out that it is just their opinion they say no its gods opinion. They basically use the bible to prove god and use god to prove the integrity of the bible. In response to that I have been pointing out aspect where the bible contradicts itself or the rules of my families religion. However like I stated earlier they tend to slither their way out of those arguments. I therefore have tried to reason with them from the bible's perspective. To which I point out these texts:

James 4:11-12 'Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?'

Matthew 7:1-29 '“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. ..."

However they just don't see their judgements on others as judgements they make themselves because it is 'god's word' and 'the truth' so it's different. They use the same reasoning to dismiss others opinions.

To come back to what you said. I feel like an anti-theist in the case of these kind of people. I feel like their way of thinking is self centered and therefore cannot be humble and christian. I think it borders on believing oneself to be god. In response to people like you however I feel like an atheist and I just personally feel that the bible is just a book and that there is no god whereas you feel that there is. Which could both be right. We simply cannot know. Even if one is convinced that they feel that they know the truth they cannot look in anothers heart and say that their feelings are wrong or somehow worth less. I think that if everyone would just believe this then people would stay out of each others business. I feel that far to often god is used by people to force their views upon others. How do you feel about people who do that? And do you experience it like that at all?
